Boston Celtics guard Kemba Walker said Wednesday that he and rookie teammate Grant Williams bonded over the season suspension at his home in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Williams is from Charlotte and stayed with Walker at his home during the coronavirus pandemic. The two spent quite a bit of time together in quarantine prior to returning to Boston as the Celtics’ practice facility re-opened last month.

Williams said in an interview with Sierra Goodwill of CLNS Media that the two often worked out together and attempted to stay in shape in order to be ready for the season restart this month. Walker said he and Williams had a great time together, according to Chris Grenham of Forbes.

Of course, the Celtics are in third place in the Eastern Conference and are among the 22 teams set to restart the season at the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida. Since the Celtics have essentially locked up the third seed, the team will likely use the eight seeding games as a tune-up in order to be prepared for when the playoffs begin.

The Celtics return to action on July 31 vs. the Milwaukee Bucks.
