Prospect Jayden Scrubb reportedly had a second interview this week with the Boston Celtics ahead of the 2020 NBA Draft, according to Chris Grenham of Forbes.

Scrubb, the 2020 National Junior College Athletic Association Player of the Year, averaged 21.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 29 games played last season at John A. Logan College in Illinois. He initially opted to transfer to Louisville next season but instead entered the NBA Draft.

The 6-foot-6 sophomore started to appear on the NBA radar following his play last season given his scoring ability and athleticism. He boasts a 6-foot-10 wingspan that also has teams intrigued with his 3-and-D potential at the next level.

The interest in Scrubb was significant enough to warrant an invitation to participate in the NBA Draft Combine, which is being held virtually and in-person through next month. Teams vote on the prospects they wish to speak with and that could bode well for his chances to either be selected or sign as a free agent following the draft.

Currently, the Celtics hold the 14th, 26th, 30th and 47th picks, respectively, in the NBA Draft. Scrubb is most commonly projected to be a late second-round pick but he would likely benefit by going undrafted so he can sign with a team that best fits his style and has a strong development system. Certainly, the Celtics project to be a great fit given that criteria.

Beginning this week, teams can begin visiting prospects in-person and observe workouts and perform medical evaluations. Teams are limited to 10 visits during the pre-draft process so it will be worth monitoring which prospects the Celtics elect to see with four picks in the draft.

The 2020 NBA Draft is scheduled to take place on Nov. 18.
