Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla gets defensive after Boston’s loss to the Philadelphia 76ers

After the Boston Celtics’ road loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night, Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla appeared to get defensive when asked about the team’s high volume of 3-point shots in the loss.

Boston Globe reporter Gary Washburn watched as Mazzulla brought up an article from 2016 that criticized the Celtics’ over-reliance on 3-pointers after asking the Boston coach about a similar issue in Wednesday’s game, and Mazzulla responded by questioning the reporter’s fascination with the topic. Despite the exchange, Mazzulla defended the team’s offensive approach, stating that they are finding multiple ways to score and have become slightly less reliant on 3-pointers compared to previous seasons.

CLNS Media reporter Bobby Manning weighed in on the exchange for a recent news segment of the “Garden Report” podcast.
