Celtics choke 30-point lead to Hawks as horrendous late-game offense persists

The Celtics lost to the Hawks 120-118 in what was one of the worst collapses put together by Boston in quite some time.

The Boston Celtics found a way to lose a game they had been leading by 30 points to the Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena on Monday night. The Celtics lost to the Hawks 120-118 in what was one of the worst collapses put together by Boston in quite some time.

That it came on a night where the Hawks sat almost all of their good players, with Trae Young, Jalen Johnson, Onyeka Okongwu, and Saddiq Bey all on the bench nursing their respective injuries. The most frustrating aspect of it all? The Celtics easily could have clamped down on defense at a number of points in the second half to get the game back under control — and they elected not to.

The hosts of the CLNS Media “How Bout Them Celtics!” podcast took a closer look at the surprising loss on their most recent episode. Check it out below.
