Celtics center Tacko Fall reflects on his rookie season with Boston

Boston Celtics two way center Tacko Fall shared his feelings about his inaugural season in the NBA with team reporter Amanda Pflugrad.

Boston Celtics two way center Tacko Fall recently opened up about his first season in the NBA with team reporter Amanda Pflugrad while visiting the Franklin Park Zoo with his mother and brother.

While he didn’t see too much floor time in the Disney restart bubble, the UCF product did make the trip to Lake Buena Vista, Florida with the team, just around the corner from his collegiate stomping grounds.

What did the Senegalese center think of his time in the bubble?

“It was a very unique experience,” replied Fall in something of an understatement given its monumental task of keeping players safe in the midst of a pandemic.

“Being in Orlando, especially with the guys that we have — we have a really tight group — I really got to bond with them, especially the guys you saw me with in videos. We used to go to the pool a lot,” he added, the scene of a number of viral Celtics videos coming out of the bubble this summer.

“We had to wake up every morning, check your temperature, log it, check your oxygen level and log it in,” explained Fall. “You get tested every day. That’s the one thing I do not miss.”

Transitioning back to normal life after leaving the bubble was almost as much of an adjustment for the big man moving into it.

“It was an adjustment as well,” Fall explained, “we kind of got used to that kind of lifestyle.”

“Personally, I feel like I had a great, great rookie year. Even the fact that … we added a few more months to it worked in my favor as far as my development went. I was a two way player, I spent a lot of time in the G League, and then in the second half I was more in Boston going back and forth … I appreciate the process. I’ve gotten a lot better.”

“Luckily, I stayed in shape the whole time,” he added.

Fall’s interview went on to talk about his experience with the team’s G League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws, his friendship with Enes Kanter, and how it felt being the focal point of Tacko Mania.
