CBS Sports says that the Ravens should make a move for this star wide receiver

The Baltimore Ravens have seen their wide receiver room go from full of depth to a major need in a matter of weeks. First, the team released Miles Boykin to save cap space, and then during the first night of the 2022 NFL draft they traded away No. 1 wideout Marquise Brown, sending him to the Arizona Cardinals.

When looking at nine moves that should be made after the 2022 draft, Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports says that Baltimore should make a move for San Fransisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel. Benjamin discusses how the fit is a good one for multiple different reasons.

“The 49ers rightfully won’t surrender him for a mild offer, but if Deebo stays firm in his desire to relocate, extending his holdout into the summer, they’ll eventually be more proactive in trade talks. Baltimore is a perfect fit, not only because their run-based offense could incorporate Samuel in motion, or because Lamar Jackson needs more weaponry following Marquise Brown’s trade, but because Deebo would get his apparent wish to be closer to home in South Carolina.”

Samuel would be a phenomenal addition to the Ravens’ offense. However, there are questions as to whether Baltimore would be willing to give up a hefty amount of assets for the wideout as well as shell out a massive contract for the wideout. Quarterback Lamar Jackson would benefit of having a “big three” of Samuel, Rashod Bateman and Mark Andrews, as the trio would make stopping the team’s offensive unit a nightmare. It will be interesting to see what the team ends up doing at the wide receiver position, regardless of if Samuel is a player they end up acquiring.
