CBS Sports has released its projections for the New Year’s Six bowls as we head into Week 2. As most would imagine, there is a strong SEC contingency in these bowls.
CBS Sports has LSU’s Week 1 opponent, Florida State, in the College Football Playoff against Michigan in the Rose Bowl. On the other side of the bracket, they have Georgia and Alabama playing in the Sugar Bowl for a shot at a national title game.
After losing to Florida State in week one, LSU finds itself projected to play against the Penn State Nittany Lions in the Peach Bowl. Penn State took on West Virginia in week one in front of a sold-out crowd at Beaver Stadium. The Nittany Lions came away with a 38-15 win.
They find themselves in the same kind of situation LSU is in. They’re a good team, but there are currently two more teams in their conference ranked higher than them. For them, it’s Ohio State and Michigan. For LSU, it’s Alabama and Georgia.
