The Baltimore Ravens have done their best to build a competitive football roster in all three phases for the 2023 season. They’ve added pieces on both offense and defense during the offseason, and remain one of the most elite special teams groups in the entire league.

When listing the best duos on every NFL team heading into the 2023 NFL season, Jeff Kerr of CBS Sports named his choice for the Baltimore as inside linebackers Roquan Smith and Patrick Queen. Kerr explained that both Smith and Queen played phenomenal football in 2022, and could continue that trend this upcoming year.

“Smith made an instant impact in the Ravens defense since Baltimore acquired him prior to the trade deadline, finishing with 169 tackles, 4.5 sacks, three interceptions and six passes defended with the Ravens and Chicago Bears this past season. Smith and Patrick Willis are the only players to have 150-plus tackles, four-plus sacks and three-plus interceptions in a season…Queen is coming off a season which he notched a career high in tackles (117), sacks (five), interceptions (two) and passes defensed (six). He is one of three defenders (Roquan Smith and Bobby Wagner) with at least 300 tackles, three interceptions and 10 sacks since entering the league in 2020…If Baltimore makes a deep playoff run in 2023, Smith and Queen will be a massive reason why.”
