CBS Sports published its updated college football bowl projections on Sunday, with a change in destination for the Florida Gators come postseason time. While previously predicted by most to appear in the Orange Bowl, senior sportswriter Jerry Palm expects the Gators to make an appearance in Atlanta against the Cincinnati Bearcats.
Now that the Big Ten is back in the fold and the Pac-12 eyes a Halloween return to play, the postseason outlook has been shaken up a bit, shifting the outlook of many teams like UF. At top of the heap, OSU, the Clemson Tigers, Alabama Crimson Tide and Oklahoma Sooners are all expected to make it to the College Football Playoffs.
As far as the New Year’s Six games, the Miami Hurricanes and Georgia Bulldogs are expected to face off in the Orange Bowl on Miami’s home turf, while the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Auburn Tigers take the field opposite each other in the Fiesta Bowl, Florida faces Cincinnati in the Peach Bowl and the Texas Longhorns face the North Carolina Tarheels in the Cotton Bowl.
