The 2020 college football season is just three weeks in for the LSU Tigers, but former wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase continues to gain steam in the 2021 NFL mock draft boards.

On Tuesday, CBS Sports released its updated 2021 mock draft, and former Tigers receiver Ja’Marr Chase is listed as going in the top 10.

CBS Sports has Chase going ninth overall to the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins are currently 2-3 on the season.

At LSU, Chase caught a total of 107 passes for 2,093 yards in his career in Baton Rouge. He averaged 19.6 yards per catch and had 23 receiving touchdowns.

In 2019 alone, Chase finished with a team-high 84 receptions for 1,780 yards and 20 touchdowns while averaging 21.2 yards per catch.

His prolific season in 2019 led him to being the recipient of the Biletnikoff Award, which goes to the top receiver in college football.

After deciding to opt out of the 2020 season to focus on draft preparations, Chase continues to stay locked in as a top-10 selection in all mock drafts.

The Dolphins selecting Chase would boost their receiving corps with former fifth overall pick Tua Tagavoiloa as their quarterback of the future.

Currently, Chase is listed as the second receiver being drafted in next year’s draft behind Alabama wideout Jaylen Waddle.

The opportunity is still there for Chase to work his way back into being a potential top five pick, but sitting out the season and not accumulating any receptions may hurt those chances. However, the combine and LSU’s pro day will still allow Chase to showcase his skills to team scouts before the draft next April.
