History was made on Friday night as No. 16 Fairleigh Dickinson pulled off the unfathomable upset over No. 1 Purdue in the 2023 NCAA men’s tournament.
The Knights’ 63-58 victory over the Boilermakers is only the second-ever time a No. 16 seed has taken down a No. 1 seed in the NCAA men’s tournament.
Fairleigh Dickinson joins University of Maryland, Baltimore County as the two No. 16 seeds in NCAA men’s tournament history to defeat a No. 1 seed.
CBS broadcaster Andrew Catalon marked the occasion with the absolutely perfect call to announce Fairleigh Dickinson’s monumental upset.
“FDU believe it?” Catalon exclaimed on the game broadcast, which will now go down in March Madness history.
