Usually, the hiring of super agent Drew Rosenhaus has been bad news for the Cleveland Browns. And this is what third-year cornerback Greg Newsome II did today. There was speculation that Newsome II wanted out of Cleveland after being forced into the slot in 2022, but ESPN’s Adam Schefter has reported that Newsome is excited to play for new defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz and is happy in Cleveland.
Newsome II will be in attendance as the Browns begin their offseason programming on Monday as well, Schefter reports. The Browns have never met a trade request of any player under Andrew Berry, and they certainly are not going to trade away secondary talent.
Newsome’s rookie season was Pro Bowl-worthy, and under Schwartz, there is hope he can return to those heights in year three.
