The San Francisco 49ers faced the Arizona Cardinals in Week 15 with a banged-up defense. However, two starters questionable to play with injuries did suit up.
The 49ers released their inactive list 90 minutes before kickoff at State Farm Stadium and it did not include cornerback Charvarius Ward and linebacker Dre Greenlaw. Ward was questionable with a groin injury and Greenlaw was questionable with multiple injuries.
They did have three defensive starters and a starting offensive lineman out, though.

- DL Javon Hargrave
- LB Oren Burks
- TE Ross Dwelley
- RB Elijah Mitchell
- DL Arik Armstead
- OL Spencer Burford
Burford is their starting right guard. Armstead and Hargrave are their two best interior defenders and combine for 11 sacks on the season.
