Tyus Jones — Sources say the Cavs continue to have interest in Jones, who served as both Ja Morant’s backup and fill-in starter. The belief is Jones wants a starting gig — and pay day. Minnesota is expected to have interest in Tyus Jones, but Washington has been the one rival team most often connected with the Grizzlies’ point guard. The Jazz have interest in bringing Danuel House Jr. back. By the end of the season, he was playing at a starting level. He’s a tough and athletic two-way wing, the kind who should garner significant interest on the open market. Because the Jazz don’t have his Bird rights, they may well have to use all or part of their midlevel if they want to bring him back. If not, they could offer him a vet minimum and hope that’s enough to stave off other offers. -via The Athletic / June 30, 2022
Paschall should draw interest on the open market, according to sources. He’s a terrific athlete for his size, gets to the basket off the dribble and is a capable scorer. His absence from the roster means the Jazz have one more forward spot they need to account for as free agency opens. -via The Athletic / June 30, 2022

What’s the buzz on Twitter?

Fred Katz @FredKatz
Very interested to see how the Knicks use Isaiah Hartenstein. Quite a good passer from the high post. It’s a very different skill set from the big men they’ve had the past couple of seasons. – 6:04 PM

On Kevon Looney, Isaiah Hartenstein, Mo Bamba and other bigs the Suns should target with the MLE (which might be more relevant if KD happens and Deandre Ayton is sign-and-traded away): bit.ly/3Paxucb3:38 PM

In regards to the Wolves and Isaiah Hartenstein, there was significant interest at the trade deadline — and it was a bit of a surprise LAC wouldn’t give him up, given they have limited means to retain him
The deadline was of course pre-Tim Connelly, but TC had Hartenstein in DEN – 1:33 PM

More on this storyline

I’d expect the Knicks to waive Gibson and then give strong consideration to signing him to a new contract later in the offseason; though, as SNY reported, the club has several backup centers on its radar. Among them: Isaiah Hartenstein and Andre Drummond, per sources. Bleacher Report first noted Hartenstein on the Knicks’ radar. The Knicks will be aggressive in their pursuit of Hartenstein, per SNY sources. The Orlando Magic, as Marc Stein reported, is also a suitor for Hartenstein. Teams with interest in Drummond say the Knicks have a degree of interest in the center. -via SportsNet New York / June 30, 2022
Jake Fischer: Sounds like Isaiah Hartenstein has another suitor: the New York Knicks. No guest, just taking your questions on @getcallin at 4pmET, to help set the table one last time before the free agency horn blares. Marc Stein: It’s well-known among rival teams interested in Hartenstein, league sources say, that he has strong interest in re-signing with the Clippers. The Clips’ forthcoming signing of John Wall, however, severely limits what they can offer the in-demand big man. -via Twitter @TheSteinLine / June 30, 2022
