Titans vs. Jets: 3 best player prop bets for Week 2

The Tennessee Titans take on the New York Jets in Week 2 and here’s a look at three of the best player prop bets.

The Tennessee Titans are looking to bounce back in Week 2 after losing a heartbreaker to the Chicago Bears last Sunday.

Even with this game being the home opener, the Titans are 3.5-point underdogs against the New York Jets, per BetMGM. The Jets also lost in Week 1, so it may officially be panic time for the loser of this one.

Let’s look at the three best player prop bets you should consider if you plan on betting on this game.

Tyjae Spears OVER 23.5 rushing yards

After Week 1, head coach Brian Callahan expressed disappointment that Tyjae Spears wasn’t more involved.

“Tony [Pollard] ran the ball, and he was doing a nice job,” Callahan said, via team reporter Jim Wyatt. “But I’d like to get more for Tyjae [Spears]. I’d like him to get rolling a little bit more. We can make that division of labor probably a little closer to equal. … I regret that part of it.”

Well, expect Spears to be involved in Week 2. The Jets allowed 49ers backup running back Jordan Mason to gain 147 yards on the ground in Week 1, so there should be plenty of opportunities for Spears and Pollard. Spears easily surpasses this total.

Garrett Wilson UNDER 5.5 receptions

In Week 1, Garrett Wilson caught six passes for 60 yards. In Week 2, don’t expect the young star to reach the same total.

Wilson will likely be matched up against L’Jarius Sneed, who feels like he has something to prove after Week 1, even as the secondary played well.

In the past, the Titans have primarily been hurt by secondary receivers. Expect Wilson to get locked down on Sunday with Aaron Rodgers forced to distribute the ball elsewhere.

Will Levis OVER 195.5 passing yards

Will Levis had an awful Week 1 performance. However, the quarterback has expressed confidence that he can bounce back in Week 2, and I expect him to.

Levis’ passing yards total is under 200, which immediately makes me want to hammer the over. Brock Purdy threw for 231 yards last week, but his team was in control for much of the game.

This one could become a shootout where Levis has to stretch the ball down the field. I would not be surprised to see Levis bounce back with something like 250 yards and two touchdowns.

Titans open as 3.5-point home underdogs vs. Jets in Week 2

The Tennessee Titans open Week 2 as notable home underdogs against the New York Jets.

The Tennessee Titans and New York Jets both opened their seasons with a loss.

The Titans imploded in the second half, allowing the Chicago Bears to score 21 unanswered points on their way to a 24-17 win. The Jets fared slightly better but still lost to the San Francisco 49ers on the road.

As the two teams prepare to face each other in Nashville on Sunday, the Jets are 3.5-point favorites to win the game. The over/under, per BetMGM, is 40.5.

The Titans have their work cut out for them this Sunday when they face the Jets. It doesn’t matter that they are the host, Aaron Rodgers is not an easy quarterback to defend. He’s past his prime, and the Niners managed to record an interception and hold him to just one touchdown, but the Titans aren’t the same team.

It’s possible the Titans’ defense keeps Rodgers from taking over the game, much like they held Caleb Williams to a minimum last week. However, the rest of the Titans’ team has to step up. That means offensively and on special teams.

Despite both teams losing last week, they both have reason to hope and believe that they will win this week. The Titans’ offense didn’t fare well in the second half, but in the first half, they looked great so it’s up to Brian Callahan to make the right adjustments. If he can do that, and the players can execute as planned, this game should be very different.

Titans open as home underdogs to Bengals for Week 12

The Titans open the week as underdogs to the Bengals.

The Tennessee Titans (7-3) are set to host the Cincinnati Bengals (6-4) in a rematch of one of last year’s divisional round playoff games.

This is certainly a revenge game to many within the Titans’ fanbase. A victory on Sunday certainly wouldn’t make up for what happened last January, but it would feel good knowing Tennessee threw a wrench in Cincinnati’s playoffs chase.

A win by the Titans wouldn’t eliminate the Bengals or anything like that, but it would definitely make Cincinnati’s life much more stressful going forward.

The Titans currently sit as the No. 3 Seed in the AFC, while the Bengals would come in as the No. 7 seed if the season ended today.

Despite all this, according to Tipico Sportsbook, the Titans are opening as 1.5 -point home underdogs for Week 12, with the over/under being set at 43 points.

Tipico SportsBook

Tennessee currently has the best record (8-2) in the NFL when betting against the spread this season, per Team Rankings. However, the Bengals aren’t far behind with an impressive 7-3 record of their own against the spread.

Also worth noting is the Titans only hitting the over in three of 10 contests in 2022. The Bengals have been slightly more successful, with Cincinnati hitting the over four times.
