The Skip Barber Formula Race Series is set to take the green flag across eight legendary racing venues across the United States. Bell is excited to make his debut laps at all the tracks in the series calendar, but mostly looking forward to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

“I’m looking forward to WeatherTech Laguna Seca the most because of the elevation change and the new track surface,” Bell said. “The new track surface will generate a lot of grip and make for some exciting racing.”

“The Skip Barber Race Series was not only more affordable, but the easy access to coaching, programs, and testing was better than the other series I was considering,” Wolfe said. “I haven’t competed in a real-life series like this before. I’m very excited to learn, gain experience, and be competitive in the Skip Barber Race Series.”

The Skip Barber Formula Race Series is set to take the green flag across eight legendary racing venues across the United States, but Wolfe is most looking forward to VIRginia International Raceway and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

“VIR and Road Atlanta are two tracks that I’ve always liked the layout of,” Wolfe said. “The elevation change at VIR is very thrilling when you’re in the driver’s seat and Road Atlanta is a fast layout that I am excited to drive and race on for the first time.”

Andretti Autosport has today announced a partnership with Skip Barber Racing School, the world’s largest automotive education and entertainment company. The partnership builds upon decades of history between the two brands, with over a dozen of Andretti’s IndyCar drivers, past and present, and five members of the Andretti family having been trained in Skip Barber programs.

The newest member of the Andretti driving family to train with Skip Barber will be junior development driver Sebastian Wheldon. The son of the late two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Dan Wheldon, Sebastian will make his Skip Barber Formula Racing Series debut April 3-5 at Road Atlanta, with support from Gainbridge. Graduating from the karting ranks, this will mark the first season of car racing for the eldest Wheldon brother as he follows in the footsteps of his father who enrolled in the Skip Barber Racing School Formula Car Lapping Day at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in 2000.

The 2023 Skip Barber Formula Racing Series will consist of eight weekends and 16 races that will offer drivers access to iconic racetracks from coast to coast. New this season, the series will award $500,000 in scholarships with the overall series champion being offered a scholarship valued at $100,000 to advance to the USF Juniors Series the following season.

“Skip Barber Racing School represents one of the best training opportunities in the world for young racing talent. We’ve been fortunate to have a strong friendship over the years and are proud to be able to evolve this into a greater opportunity for our future racers,” said Michael Andretti, Chairman and CEO of Andretti Autosport. Sebastian will take a big step in his career this year competing in the Skip Barber Formula Racing Series with Gainbridge, and we’re excited to watch his continued development. I have no doubt he’ll be up to speed quickly and will grow immensely in the Skip Barber program.”

Dan DeMonte, CMO of Skip Barber Racing School, said, “Learning to become a professional driver at the highest levels of our sport requires desire, talent, and great coaching. We are excited to partner with Andretti Autosport to guide Sebastian on his championship journey. Both brands’ history and combined legacies in the racing industry make for a perfect union between the organizations.”

Wheldon commented, “I am super excited to compete in my first-ever car race in less than a week. I have already spent a few days with Skip Barber doing their five-day racing school and it was an awesome experience. All the team members are so knowledgeable, and I am looking forward to learning more as I start racing. It’s an incredible opportunity to have the support of Andretti Autosport and Gainbridge in a program that has launched the careers of several notable professional open-wheel racing drivers.”

Cooper Broll will drive for the Skip Barber Race Team in the 2023 TC America season, competing in the TCA class. Broll will be behind the wheel of a Skip Barber HPD Civic Si.

The California native began ski racing at age 8, but his career was cut short after a tick bite led to Lyme disease. Broll was so debilitated by Lyme that he had to drop out of all sports and could barely go to school for 2 years. Thanks to an incredible group of doctors, Broll made a full recovery several years ago and will carry International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS) on board this year to raise awareness of this often invisible illness.

In addition to ILADS, Broll will also carry Pied Parker as a sponsor this season. Pied Parker is the future of parking technology that uses smart cameras and artificial intelligence to quickly, inexpensively, and remotely manage parking lots.

Broll has completed multiple Skip Barber Racing Schools since his first 3-Day Skip Barber Racing School last year. He has completed programs at Lime Rock Park, Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, Sonoma Raceway, Circuit of the Americas, and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca behind the wheel of our Mustang GT, Formula 4, and most recently, the HPD Civic Si.

“The Honda is so responsive, agile, and quick,” Broll said. “It’s a different experience from any car I have ever driven. It handles like it’s on rails, and every part, from the clutch actuation to the steering, is precise and sharp. The possibilities feel endless when driving the Civic Si.”

Skip Barber Racing School offers training for aspiring race car drivers like Broll and has graduates at the professional level of every racing series, including IMSA, Formula 1, IndyCar, NASCAR, and SRO. This winning combination highlights the amateur-to-pro race car driver ladder system supported by SRO’s TC America series and the Skip Barber Racing School. Broll is a real-world example of the program’s success.

“Skip Barber is not like other teams,” Broll said. “They are professional, experienced, safety conscious, and incredibly passionate about racing. From day one, Skip Barber has been welcoming and supportive. I’m happy Skip Barber will give me an incredible chance to progress in my professional racing career.”

“We are proud to have Cooper advance to our TC America program and compete for the TCA championship,” said Joe Monitto, Chief Revenue Officer of Skip Barber. “This is why we developed our Race Team, to give our graduates a path to pro racing. All of us at Skip Barber look forward to watching him continue to succeed behind the wheel in the upcoming season as he kicks off his pro racing career.”

Broll will take his first green flag with the Skip Barber Race Team at Sonoma Raceway on March 30th. The Skip Barber Race Team is going into its third season after back-to-back TC class championships, manufacturer championships, and a pair of Top 3 points finishes in TCA. Last season, the team secured 13 victories across all drivers with over 25 podium finishes.
