Beloved internet star Zombie Kid is all grown up, still loves turtles at the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie premiere

Zombie Kid is back, and he still likes turtles.

One of the all-time great internet videos stars Zombie Kid (a.k.a. Jonathan), the lad at the state fair who shared his enjoyment of turtles with the world when interviewed by a local television news crew.

“I like turtles” is the stuff of internet legend, and the good folks trying to promote the new film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem did exactly what you think they did by the way this article introduction went.

Yes, Jonathan the Zombie Kid has made his triumphant return, makeup and all, to offer the exact review you’d expect for the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.

Like, c’mon, this is amazing. The new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie has debuted to some fantastic reviews, but none will hold more weight than that of Zombie Kid.

If he liked it, then the odds are very good for this one to uphold the high standards we all have for turtles.

It’s time to declare it: ATTENZIONE PICKPOCKET! is the meme of summer 2023

These videos of a woman calling out pickpockets in Venice are now the best memes.

I have seen all your memes, and as the judge of all things meme*, I would like to declare a winner: ATTENZIONE PICKPOCKET IS THE MEME OF SUMMER 2023.

(*Not a real thing, also not a real award, but stick with me.)

There’s been a lot to love, from Barbenheimer memes to Lionel Messi at at Publix to the awesomeness that is the Las Vegas Sphere and its memes.

But, no: The award goes to a 57-year-old in Venice named Monica Poli. Per a New York Times interivew that dropped, “She is part of a group known as the Cittadini Non Distratti — the undistracted citizens — who wander the city shouting at people whom they believe to be thieves plucking wallets, passports and other items from the pockets of passers-by.”

And her voice screaming ATTENZIONE PICKPOCKET! ATTENZIONE BORSEGGIATRICI! at people trying to steal from tourists — who run away and hide their faces — is the best … and so are the memes:

What are Skibidi toilets? Explaining the bizarre YouTube video series that’s taking over the internet

The new, bizarre YouTube series that’s sweeping the internet.

Welcome to FTW Explains, a guide to catching up on and better understanding stuff going on in the world. Have you seen a meme or videos with toilets that have heads coming out of them, going to war with other, weird-looking figures? And you’re confused or slightly disturbed? We’re here to help.

What I’m about to break down for you is one of the weirdest things I’ve seen on the internet in the last few months: It’s some toilets with heads in them, singing. But then they also battle other bizarre-looking creatures, and it’s become a whole thing.

Welcome to Skibidi Toilets. We’re here to help explain them:

7 things the new, ugly Twitter X logo looks like, according to Twitter

Seriously, this is the new Twitter logo.

Sometimes, Elon Musk says something is going to happen with Twitter and the change or idea doesn’t materialize.

But that didn’t happen with his latest head-scratcher of an idea as people have flocked to Threads as of late: Over the weekend, the owner said Twitter’s famous blue bird logo would be replaced by … an X.

We all kind of laughed, made some jokes and maybe we doubted it would actually happen.

Nope! On Monday, there it was: An X.

So of course Twitter users took a look and talked (joked) about what that logo looks like, which we’ve collected below:

Elon Musk said he’d rebrand Twitter’s logo to X and everyone was baffled

Twitter is just getting worse and worse.

However you utilize it, Twitter’s gradual decline over the last few months has been noticeable.

In February, the website broke down for an indefinite period of time. In March, various famous people — including pro athletes — publicly decried paying $8 for a verified blue checkmark. In early July, we saw the first instance of an infamous “rate limit” message when trying to tweet … anything. And then, just a few days later, many flocked over to Meta’s competitor app, Threads, in reaction to some of Twitter’s recent pitfalls.

Despite all of this, the website’s owner Elon Musk seems committed to continue ruining what made the place palatable for most.

In the late hours of Saturday night, Musk revealed Twitter would soon be rebranding to “X.” That famous blue bird everyone knows? Gone.

It’s one thing to change a brand you own to your “vision” (I use vision extremely loosely). Which sure, whatever. But words like “tweet” and “retweet” have literally become famous verbs in the cultural lexicon. And that little blue bird facilitating them was something even non-users of Twitter could easily recognize. Brand goodwill, so to speak, means a lot here!

From every perspective, it’s hard to see how “X” will be a good decision for the platform in the long run. But it’s not out of character based on the last few months.
