Bronny James makes clutch play to beat his dad’s alma mater

Bronny James played his best game of the season against his dad’s high school.

LeBron James was in attendance Saturday night at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, to watch his son’s undefeated Sierra Canyon team face off against his alma mater, St. Vincent-St. Mary. The Irish led Sierra Canyon for much of the second half, but Bronny James played his best game of the season and made a crucial play late in the game to give the Trailblazers the lead late in the fourth quarter.

With 55.6 seconds remaining in the game and Sierra Canyon trailing, 56-55, Bronny James deflected and stole an inbounds pass near midcourt, and scored the go-ahead bucket in transition.

The Irish seemed to tie the game on the other end at the free-throw line, but a lane violation wiped away a free-throw and preserved Sierra Canyon’s lead. The Trailblazers held on to win, 59-56. James scored 15 points off the bench and was 7-of-10 from the field.

Newtown wins state championship on anniversary of Sandy Hook shooting

The Newtown High School football team won a state title on Saturday in unbelievable fashion.

Seven years to the day since the tragic Sandy Hook shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, the Newtown High School Nighthawks won a football state championship in unbelievable fashion, scoring a 36-yard touchdown on the last play of the game to walk off as winners.

With the game against Darien tied 7-7 late in the fourth quarter, Newtown forced a turnover on downs and had just 56 seconds left to try and score. The Nighthawks advanced from their own 33-yard line into Darien territory. Newtown snapped the ball with three seconds left in the fourth quarter, and after time expired, quarterback Jack Street launched a perfect pass to the corner of the endzone, and receiver Riley Ward made the catch to win the title.

The championship is Newtown’s first since 1992.

Bronny James and Zaire Wade blew out their opponents in their first high school game together

What a team!

A quick reminder that Sierra Canyon’s boys hoops team has Zaire Wade (Dwyane’s son), Bronny James (the offspring of LeBron) and future Kentucky star BJ Boston on its roster. That’s a whole lot of talent on one team.

So it’s not that surprising that the squad defeated Montgomery High 91-44, a game that was shown on ESPN3 on Thursday.

Wade’s dad was in attendance, with the crowd in attendance going nuts when he came to sit at courtside to watch the game. I’m not sure if he was around to see Wade catch an alley-oop pass and slam it home:

James’s first shot as a high school player was a three from near the corner:

Yup. This is going to be fun to watch:

ONE MORE WARNING. OK.

The first season of The Sneak tells the story of Anthony Curcio, aka D.B. Tuber, a college football star who committed an outlandish armored car heist in 2008. Curcio used a disguise, Craigslist-hired decoys, and made a wild escape in an inner tube down a river.

It’s a perfect crime story, but as we discovered in our reporting: It was too perfect. The story that went viral worldwide, well, it was missing things. Like how it actually all went down. And who else was involved.
