NFL game recaps from Week 18 with a fantasy spin

The final week of the regular season is in the books and the playoffs are set. We had the Texans take a road win over the Colts, the Cowboys go into hiding at the Commanders, the Eagles lock up the No. 1 seed, finally, and the 49ers looking like they deserve the homefield throughout.

It was low scoring with five games where neither team scored 20 points. It’s very different from Week 1 when points are plentiful and we recognized all the player names. Week 18 had plenty of second and third-stringers getting their chance to impress and a few did. It has been a great season, made forever memorable by the Bills-Bengals game that wasn’t.

Fantasy game recaps for Week 17 of the 2022 season

Week 17 may have contained several critical games, but the Chiefs and 49ers had a tough time squeaking out wins over what should have been lesser opponents. And the Vikings and Eagles did not look like one of the top teams in the NFC when both lost. The games seemed to either be ridiculously close,  or blowouts with eight games that were determined by two touchdowns or more.

The biggest week on the fantasy schedule and there were a few monster performances, but a lot of painful no-shows when you needed them the most.

Quick breakdowns of the games from Week 16

The weekend wrapped up with an overtime win by the Buccaneers over the Cardinals. There were plenty of low-scoring affairs – six different games failed to produce more than 19 points by either opponent. The Cowboys-Eagles tilt developed into a shootout despite Jalen Hurts holding a clipboard and just watching. Cold weather conspired to lower many game scores from expected and that’s likely to repeat for the next two weeks.

The playoffs are coming into focus, but only four teams per division have locked up a playoff spot and a total of six teams are vying to grab a spot in January.

Here’s a quick run-down on who did what in Week 16 of the NFL season.

Sunday Game Recaps

Game fantasy recaps from Week 15 of the NFL season.

Week 15 weekend started out with three great games that all had dramatic endings, but none so great as the biggest comeback in NFL history.

There were six games where neither team scored more than 21 points and two where both teams scored at least 34 points. The weekend contained three overtime games and the ending to the Patriots-Raiders game was perhaps the most unpatriotic play of all time. Points are receding right when fantasy playoffs are kicking off, but there were still plenty of players to make it an exciting set of games to watch.

Week 14 Sunday game breakdowns

Week 14 Sunday is in the books and we saw six of ten games won by a touchdown or less. Division leaders of the Bills, Ravens, Chiefs, Eagles, and 49ers won while the Titans and Vikings lost to a division rival. The Buccaneers played the 49ers (sort of) and still lead the NFC South with a 6-7 record.

We’re seeing more games with less than 35 total points and that wonderful phenomena when a top team tries to mail in their matchup with a weaker opponent and get caught like the Titans or almost get caught like the Cowboys.

The week started with the dramatic comeback of the Rams over the Raiders back on Thursday and ended with the Dolphins not showing up at the Chargers until sometime in the third quarter which proved to be too late.
