Advice and prediction

The Timberwolves have been playing solid basketball to end the season, and are just a couple weeks removed from back-to-back wins over the Jazz, but I’m still hesitant to lay five points on a 22-win team. Instead, I’m looking to the total.

The last time these teams met we saw a 281-point overtime thriller, and the Celtics haven’t shown much of an inclination toward playing defense lately, hitting the over in eight of their last 10 games. Take the over 232.5.

Prediction: Timberwolves 123, Celtics 119

Advice and prediction

We easily hit our over bet in Tuesday night’s Celtics loss to the Heat, but Boston will be short-handed on the second night of the back-to-back, as Marcus Smart and Kemba Walker will miss the game along with Jaylen Brown and Robert Williams III.

Still, this is a Cavs unit that has lost 11 consecutive games and hasn’t covered the spread since April 21. Cleveland is the most profitable team to bet against in the NBA this season, and while it hasn’t been a very safe strategy to back the Celtics either, we’re not looking at an overly large spread here. Take Boston minus-5.5 in what should be a lower-scoring game.

Prediction: Celtics 113, Cavaliers 99

Miami at Boston: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks (5/9)

Everything you need to know to wager on Sunday’s tilt with the Heat.

The sixth-place Miami Heat play the seventh-place Boston Celtics on Sunday, May 9 at 1 p.m.Eastern Time, and if you are looking to do some last-minute betting research, you happen to be in luck! We will give you the latest point spread, moneyline odds and over-under number, as well as the information you will need to make the smartest bet on BetMGM.

Both teams are trending healthy with each needing the win to stay out of range of the league’s new play-in tournament, with the Heat having won their last contest and seven of their last 10. The Celtics however have been struggling in recent weeks, losing their last game and winning just four out of their last 10 games.

Expect desperation basketball from Boston and Miami both.

Celtics at Bulls: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

Our prediction and best bet for Friday’s Celtics-Bulls game.

The Boston Celtics visit the Chicago Bulls on Friday night, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, moneyline odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on BetMGM.

The game tips off at 7:30 and can be seen on ESPN.

These teams have split two games so far this season, with the away team winning each time. The Bulls (27-39) are playing the second half of a back-to-back after snapping a four-game losing streak on Thursday with a 21-point win over the Charlotte Hornets. The Celtics (35-31) are coming off a blowout road win over the Magic on Wednesday.

The lines, courtesy of BetMGM

  • Point spread: Celtics -4
  • Money line: Celtics -175 / Bulls +145
  • Over-under: 223.5

Place your legal, online sports bets in VA, CO, IA, IN, NJ, PA, TN and WV at BetMGM.

Advice and prediction

The Bulls haven’t yet been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, but it would take a miracle for Chicago to sneak into the play-in tournament at this stage as they trail the No. 10 Wizards by 3.5 games.

From a betting perspective, Celtics-Bulls should prove to be an interesting matchup. Chicago has struggled offensively of late, and the under has hit in five consecutive Bulls games, with Chicago failing to break 100 points in four of their last five. The Celtics, on the other hand, have hit the over in six straight, and have scored 132+ points in two of their last three games.

Boston is still inherently unpredictable, but I don’t think the Bulls can keep pace with the Celtics offensively. Take the Celtics -4.

Prediction: Celtics 119, Bulls 104

Kemba Walker will miss Friday’s game with an oblique strain, and both Derrick White and Trey Lyles are out for San Antonio.

The lines, courtesy of BetMGM

  • Point spread: Celtics -4.5
  • Money line: Celtics -190 / Spurs +155
  • Over-under: 221.5

Place your legal, online sports bets in VA, CO, IA, IN, NJ, PA, TN and WV at BetMGM.

Advice and prediction

The Spurs took the first game of the season against the Celtics in San Antonio, 110-106, and are in relatively good form, having won five of their last seven games. The Celtics have been as unpredictable as ever, but both teams have plenty to play for on Friday. The Spurs are ninth in the Western Conference and tied on record with the No. 8 Grizzlies, while the No. 6 Celtics are currently only out of play-in tournament position thanks to a tiebreaker over the Heat.

I’m wary of a bet on the spread, so I’m instead targeting a bet on the over 221.5. The Spurs have hit the over in back-to-back road games on their current trip, and the last three Celtics games have blown past 221.5.

Prediction: Celtics 118, Spurs 115
