Wrexham launches 2024-25 home kit

Wrexham has released its new home kit ahead of the 2024-25 season.

The Red Dragons will compete in League One in the upcoming season following their second straight promotion.

The club’s kit will once again be manufactured by Macron and will feature United Airlines as its front-of-shirt sponsor.

The shirt features a dragon scale pattern throughout, with a white color and sleeve cuffs.

It also includes a graphic on the back neck area commemorating the Gresford disaster, a 1934 explosion and fire near Wrexham that claimed 266 lives.

The new shirt will be seen for the first time during the club’s preseason tour of the United States and Canada. Wrexham will face Bournemouth, Chelsea and the Vancouver Whitecaps before returning to Wales ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

The shirt is available to pre-order via shop.wrexhamafc.co.uk. The club will release information on its away kit and third kit in the coming weeks.

CBS Sports lands deal for English Football League broadcast rights

The network takes over the rights from ESPN

CBS Sports and the English Football League (EFL) have announced an exclusive four-year broadcast rights agreement.

Starting in the 2024-25 season, CBS will be the new home of the Championship, League One, League Two, Carabao Cup and Bristol Street Motors Trophy, taking over the rights from ESPN.

CBS has said that its coverage in the 2024-25 season will include:

  • A minimum of 155 Championship matches
  • A minimum of 38 League One and League Two matches
  • All 15 playoff matches across the Championship, League One and League Two
  • A minimum of 30 Carabao Cup matches
  • Three Bristol Street Motors Trophy matches

The matches will air on Paramount+, with select games on CBS Sports Network and CBS Sports Golazo Network.

“The exciting action and prestige of the EFL, as the oldest league in the world, adds tremendous value to CBS Sports’ premium soccer portfolio,” said Dan Weinberg, executive vice president of programming for CBS Sports.

“With the EFL’s compelling storylines and growing popularity coupled with our first-class coverage, we look forward to further elevating this league in the U.S.”

CBS Sports is already the home of the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, Conference League and the NWSL, among other properties. It has held Serie A rights in recent seasons, but its deal for the Italian top flight expired at the end of last season. The league’s rights-holder for 2024-25 and beyond has yet to be confirmed.

The Dutch took an early lead, but Harry Kane’s penalty equalized and with just minutes left, Ollie Watkins scored a dramatic winner to send England into Sunday’s final against Spain.

Knowing that much of the audience was distracted as the game reached its conclusion, The Killers did the sensible thing and simply paused their show, putting the match on the big screen behind them and turning the commentary on.

The 22-year-old midfielder joins the Championship side in a reported $4 million move, and has signed a four-year contract.

Morris has become one of the highest-rated midfield prospects in MLS in recent years, having made over 100 appearances for the Crew and won two MLS Cups despite his young age.

A fixture with U.S. youth national teams, Morris made his senior USMNT debut in January 2023 and has earned five caps thus far.

“He suits our style of play, he’s strong, he likes to get on the ball, and he plays off both feet,” said Boro head coach Michael Carrick.

“He’s a good age, but he’s already had a taste of success and he has a good amount of experience. We’re excited to work with him.”

Morris was called into the most recent U.S. pre-Olympic training camp, and looks to be a solid bet to compete in the games in France next month.
