Travis Hunter with miraculous catch for third TD as Colorado rolls

Travis Hunter continues to be incredible

Just give Travis Hunter the Heisman Trophy. He’s the best player in college football by far.

Hunter played both ways per usual for Colorado as it ripped Oklahoma State oN Friday.

He had 10 catches for 116 yards, including three TD receptions.

The third catch was improbable as the Oklahoma State DB was all over Hunter and still couldn’t prevent him from coming down with the football.

Hunter also had an interception in another amazing effort.

DJ McKinney delivered an unsavory message to his former school Oklahoma State on Friday when playing for Colorado.

McKinney picked off a pass in the second half and returned it for a touchdown to make it 45-0.

He decided it was appropriate to send a message to Mike Gundy and the Cowboys by re-enacting Elijah Moore’s celebration in the Egg Bowl years ago of a dog urinating.

Travis Hunter was putting on another show for Colorado

Travis Hunter is doing everything — no surprise — to seal his run to the Heisman Trophy.

The Colorado superstar, two-way player had a touchdown reception and an interception in the first half on Friday against Oklahoma State.

Deion Sanders and Colorado led 28-0 over the Cowboys as they were trying to stay in the race for the Big 12 Championship Game.

Hunter added a TD reception in the third quarter as the Buffs uppsed their lead to 35-0.

Meanwhile, his quarterback, Shedeur Sanders, was named the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award winner.

Update on Alabama A&M football player Medrick Burnett Jr.

The originalversion of this story has since been retracted by the university’s athletic department. The school sent out a second statement that the initial news of Burnett’s death was inaccurate.

“Our staff acted accordingly to the wishes of the family member to inform the A&M community and beyond of this unfortunate occurrence,” Wednesday evening’s statement said. “Upon hearing from a representative from UAB Hospital this afternoon, we learned that he remains alive.

“We express our immediate regret for disseminating false information. However, we hold complete joy in knowing that Medrick remains in stable condition.”

Alabama A&M linebacker Medrick Burnett Jr.’s injuries happened in a game against Alabama State on October 26.

North Carolina fires head coach Mack Brown

Mack Brown said he wanted to return as North Carolina’s head football coach for the 2025 season. The school had other ideas.

The veteran coach was fired by the Tar Heels on Tuesday,

The Tar Heels are 6-5 in a disappointing season.

Overall, at UNC Brown’s record is 44-32 in his second run as Tar Heels head coach.

Cal equipment guy gets Senior Bowl offer after clobbering ‘helmet thief’

Saving a helmet could lead an equipment person to the Senior Bowl

The biggest hit after The Big Game between Cal and Stanford on Saturday was noticed.

The Cal equipment guy took off and tackled a fool trying to make off with a Golden Bears helmet.

On Monday, Jim Nagy, director of the Senior Bowl, took to Twitter and said if anyone knows the equipment person to please reach out so the game could offer him a staff position for the week in Mobile, Alabama.

The guy who took the video as seen it been viewed almost one million times.

Strange squabble in end zone after Marshall beat Old Dominion

Marshall outlasted Old Dominion, 42-35, on Saturday in Sun Belt play.

Something went awry in the end zone with some Thundering Herd players as they got into a tussle with a worker in the end zone.

SEC upsets send CFP playoff picture into chaos

There were upsets all around the SEC in Week 13

The SEC schools are doing their best to ruin each others’ chances to make it to the College Football Playoff.

On Saturday:

  • Alabama was crushed by Oklahoma
  • Auburn stunned Texas A&M
  • Florida upended Ole Miss

The schools that were on the losing side of those upsets all have three losses and will slide in the CFP rankings.

The SEC Championship Game will feature Georgia against the winner of next week’s Texas-Texas A&M  game.

Another question is where will Indiana land after being thumped by Ohio State. The Hoosiers have one loss but their schedule has created many questions.

You can add in Colorado losing to Kansas and there’s another fringe team in the rankings that had their hopes doused. The Buffaloes may not even make the Big 12 Championship Game.

The selection committee has its work cut out.

 

Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders shoves ref, isn’t penalized

Shedeur Sanders appeared to get away with pushing the ref

Tempers and emotions were high in Kansas’ win over Colorado on Saturday.

The Jayhawks’ Dean Miller escaped being penalized for a low hit on Shedeur Sanders that looked for sure like a personal foul.

Later in the game another fracas broke out and in the process the quarterback for Colorado, Sanders, pushed the referee.

He was fortunate to avoid a personal foul and possible ejection in the defeat.

Arizona State fans storm field with one second left in win over BYU

Arizona State held off BYU in a game with an odd finish

Call it a premature evacuation.

Arizona State fans thought the Sun Devils had beaten BYU on Saturday.

ASU tried to kill off the final 58 seconds of the game by running backward and burning clock.

Quarterback Sam Leavitt finally heaved the ball up in the air figuring by the time it landed the clock would read 0:00.

The crowd stormed the field but the officials ruled BYU had a second left and a chance for a Hail Mary. That would have been problematic because the fans had already had their way with s set of goalposts.

Arizona State held on for the Big 12 win in over of the most odd finishes this year.
