Cardinals set to face three of league’s top edge rushers in 2021

From Week 5 to Week 9, the Cardinals have four games in five weeks against three of the NFL’s best edge rushers entering 2021.

The Arizona Cardinals prepare for their 2021 season. They feel confident in their two tackles — left tackles D.J. Humphries and right tackle Kelvin Beachum — to protect the edge and allow quarterback Kyler Murray to remain upright to make plays down the field, either with his arm or his legs.

Touchdown Wire’s Doug Farrar ranked the top edge defenders in the league. The Cardinals will have four games against three of them. In fact, these four games happen within a five-game span.

Cardinals play 5 games against NFL’s top interior defenders in 2021

They face Aaron Donald, DeForest Buckner, Kenny Clark and Akiem Hicks in five games.

The Arizona Cardinals, like every team in the NFL, will face top players at every position over the course of the season. In terms of interior defensive linemen, Touchdown Wire’s Doug Farrar ranked the top 11 interior defenders in the league entering this coming season.

The Cardinals will face four of them in a total of five games. What teams and what players are they?

Cardinals have 4 games vs. 4 of NFL’s top outside CBs in 2021

They will face Jalen Ramsey and Darious Williams twice and also Jaire Alexander and Denzel Ward.

The Arizona Cardinals have a formidable group of wide receivers with DeAndre Hopkins, A.J. Green and Christian Kirk. They will, particularly Hopkins, draw some top cornerbacks this coming season in 2021.

In fact, based on Mark Schofield’s top 11 outside cornerbacks in the NFL right now, they will face four of those players in 2021, two of time twice.

Cardinals’ preseason opener set vs. Packers

They open the preseason Saturday, August 15 at 10 a.m. Arizona time at Lambeau Field.

When the Arizona Cardinals released their 2020 schedule, their four preseason games were not set, except for a date range. While the team has not announced the exact dates and times of their preseason slate, we now know when they play their opener.

The Green Bay Packers, whom the Cardinals play on the road in their preseason opener, set their schedule.

The Cardinals will open the preseason at Lambeau Field on Saturday, August 15 at 10 a.m. Arizona time .

Assuming the preseason will be able to be held, we now can set our calendars.

Likewise, with the set date of the Cardinals’ preseason opener, we can also know when the Cardinals could open training camp. Teams are allowed to open camp 15 days before their first preseason game. That would mean the Cardinals could report on July 31 and have their first practice on August 1.

The Cardinals host the Kansas City Chiefs in their second preseason game, travel to play the Las Vegas Raiders in their third game and host the Denver Broncos in their preseason finale.
