New Browns safety Juan Thornhill will not accept your negativity

Thornhill has had enough of the negativity surrounding the Browns.

General manager Andrew Berry has done a good job this offseason of fixing roster issues and adding talent to the 2023 Cleveland Browns. However, there are still plenty that will always think it’s the same old Browns until they are consistently proven wrong on the football field.

However, new Browns safety Juan Thornhill has had enough of the negativity that surrounds the team. He took to Twitter to guarantee that things will be different and the team is in a position to win games this year. Let’s take a look at what all Thornhill had to say on the matter and how he doesn’t care about the past team’s lack of success.

The Cleveland Browns worked late into Friday evening, finalizing a trade for Pro Bowl pass rusher Za’Darius Smith. And they managed to pull it off by executing two pick swaps with the Minnesota Vikings. Reports later came out that Smith favored the Browns over two other suitors, as he saw an opportunity to cash in playing across from All-Pro Myles Garrett.

And Smith has made that known on social media as well, tweeting out “Let’s Eat” under an NFL tweet promoting the new duo in Cleveland. With Garrett, Smith, and Ogbo Okoronkwo as the new pass rushers in Cleveland, the Browns boast one of the best in the league.

Let’s eat.

The rivalry between the defensive backs of the Cleveland Browns and the wide receivers of the Cincinnati Bengals has been amplified over the past couple of seasons. And Cleveland cornerback Greg Newsome II is ready for another round when the Browns open their 2023 season against the Bengals at home.

Taking to social media to express his excitement, Newsome has let everyone know the matchup will be hot. Seeking a bounceback year under new defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, Newsome will be back at his natural outside cornerback position.

Look for a big season from the former first-round pick.

New DE Ogbo Okoronkwo: ‘the vibes in Cleveland are immaculate’

The new defensive end loves Cleveland.

It appears Ogbo Okoronkwo is enjoying his time in Northeast Ohio. Signing with the Cleveland Browns in NFL free agency, Okoronkwo is penned in as the starting defensive end opposite of Myles Garrett. As the Browns have already wrapped up part of their offseason programming, Okoronkwo has loved what he has seen of Cleveland to this point.

Taking to Twitter, Okoronkwo wrote, “The vibes in Cleveland are immaculate.”

The Browns are looking to get back in the playoffs for the first time since 2020, and getting their money worth out of Okoronkwo will go a long way toward reaching that goal. And he has bought in.

Greg Newsome II reacts to reuniting with his best friend in Cleveland

The Browns drafted the best friend of Greg Newsome II and former Northwestern teammate Cameron Mitchell. And he was pumped up about it.

With pick no. 142 in the 2023 NFL draft, the Cleveland Browns selected Northwestern cornerback Cameron Mitchell. This is the second Northwestern cornerback the Browns have selected in the last three seasons after taking Greg Newsome II in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft. And a fun fact about the pair of Northwestern cornerbacks: they are best friends.

After the selection of Mitchell, Newsome II took to Twitter to express his excitement about being reunited with his best friend and former Wildcats teammate. Needless to say, Newsome II is beyond thrilled to have his best friend back nearby and in the building with the Browns.

Watch: Browns Sione Takitaki recovering nicely from injury

The linebacker looks to be on schedule recovering from his ACL tear.

Linebacker Sione Takitaki was playing the best football of his career last season before his season ended early with an ACL tear. He has been thrust into more snaps as well as playing at the mike position and he showed he was up to the challenge. After some believed the Cleveland Browns might extend him before the injury the team ended up bringing him back on a one-year deal.

With the 2023 NFL draft about to take place, Takitaki has given Browns fans something good to see by posting a video of himself movlly well on social media. If the linebacker could be ready toward the beginning of the season it would be a major positive for the team.

Juan Thornhill continues recruiting former teammates to Cleveland

Could the team target McKinnon to replace Hunt?

New safety Juan Thornhill seems to already be embracing Cleveland as he has taken to social media to celebrate the move to the city. He has now begun trying to get his former teammate in Kansas City running back Jerick McKinnon to join him as a member of the Cleveland Browns.

The Browns could use depth at running back as there are no proven players behind Nick Chubb on the depth chart. McKinnon isn’t a superstar but provides a fantastic change-of-pace player for a team as a dual-threat receiver out of the backfield.

McKinnon had 55 catches last season and is a dynamic player who can make people miss in the open field to produce explosive plays. He is getting older but still has the breakaway speed to provide some excitement off the bench.

Greg Newsome II and teammates respond to trade rumors on social media

Newsome isn’t going anywhere

Shortly after the news broke that Cleveland Browns cornerback Greg Newsome II had a new agent, rumors surfaced that he wanted to be traded from the team.

Shortly after that Newsome II, his teammates, and other teammates took to social media to say the rumor was false. Newsome had just announced his charity softball game in the area yesterday and said it proves he wants to be in Cleveland. Newsome was unhappy with his role last year as the nickel corner and it was no secrete he felt this way. In the end, I don’t see why the team would trade Newsome.

New safety Juan Thornhill announces new jersey number

Juan Thornhill announces his new number

The Cleveland Browns spent $7 million per year to bring in a new safety in Juan Thornhill. The John Johnson III experience was nothing but rocky, so the Browns get new defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz a true free safety to patrol over the top of his defense. And now, Thornhill has announced what number he will wear in Cleveland.

Already becoming a fan favorite, Thornhill now gives himself a marketable jersey as he goes with number 1. With the number 0 now allowed, there was thought that Thornhill could grab it. For now, that number is still up for grabs for any Browns player to nab.

Elijah Moore speaks on social media for the first time since trade

The newest wide receiver is excited to be in Cleveland.

As wide receiver Elijah Moore now gets a fresh start after a promising rookie season, followed by a tumultuous second year, he appears quite excited about that opportunity. As the Cleveland Browns struck a deal with the New York Jets for his services, surrendering just about the value of a mid-fourth rounder in the process, Moore has tweeted for the first time since the trade went down.

The Browns have made a concerted effort to get more explosive offensively, adding the more athletic Jordan Akins to siphon snaps from Harrison Bryant, and now adding Moore, the offense is going to spread the football out much more in 11 personnel looks from the shotgun. Look for massive changes to how this offense looks in 2023.
