Greg Newsome II takes shot at George Pickens following end-of-game scuffle

After the Browns beat the Steelers, George Pickens went after Greg Newsome II, and the cornerback made sure to make his thoughts known

The Cleveland Browns defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the game ended in fireworks as wide receiver George Pickens locked up with cornerback Greg Newsome II in the back of the end zone on the final play of the game.

With the Steelers throwing a hail mary as time expired with the Browns on top late, Pickens seemed more interested in the extracurriculars with Newsome than on attempting to make the catch and win the game. Far away from the play, Pickens can be seen throwing Newsome out of the back of the endzone.

Pickens would then go on to get into a scuffle with a fan along the back wall as well. The Browns cornerback let Pickens know just what he thinks of him as well after the game on social media:

The Browns and Steelers play again in just two short weeks, and it is sure to be a physical showdown once again.

Dawand Jones gets in social media spat with Cleveland media member

The offensive tackle clapped back at criticism laid at his feet

The Cleveland Browns are entering a reloading year in 2025, leaving many media members to question which pieces, like offensive tackle Dawand Jones, can be viably counted on.

One Cleveland media member, Adam the Bull, went on to question Jones’ commitment to football, including his challenges with his weight on the Ultimate Cleveland Sports Show, and it did not go unnoticed by the Browns’ offensive tackle.

Adam the Bull seemed to take the comment in stride, challenging Jones to an accountability challenge. Jones, however, was not the only player to notice the comments on the show, as Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill also showed support for the offensive tackle.

Now facing his second surgery in as many seasons in the NFL, Jones looks to get to work this offseason to come back and prove to the Browns that he can be the guy at left tackle moving forward.

Dawand Jones takes to social media to give post-surgery update

Jones underwent successful surgery on his fractured fibula.

The Cleveland Browns lost another starting offensive lineman this week when left tackle Dawand Jones fractured his fibula against the New Orleans Saints.

He then underwent surgery on Wednesday after being placed on Injured Reserve and took to his personal Instagram to provide an update on how it went. In his post, Jones stated, “Surgery went well shoutout to Voos thanks everybody for the text messages, prayers, and uplifting comments… I’ll be back.”

Likely needing a new left tackle and right tackle this offseason, getting a healthy and improved Jones back on the field would help the Browns plug at least one of those needs. Drafted in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL draft, Jones had a stellar rookie season before taking a step back this season.

For now, however, Jones is set for his second surgery recovery in as many years.

Juan Thornhill remains tone-deaf to criticism received for effort level

There is a reason the Browns rotated Ronnie Hickman back onto the field on Sunday…

Cleveland Browns safety Juan Thornhill has received criticism this week, and he continues to be tone-deaf in his response.

In the loss to the New Orleans Saints, Thornhill was seen jogging in backside pursuit as wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling took an ordinary catch down the field for a touchdown. As a result, Thornhill received a massive amount of backlash online for his effort level.

His response? To take to Instagram with a meme of Forrest Gump running, with a caption that reads “Me Thursday.”

It would have been nice to see the safety take accountability for his level of play against the Saints. Instead, he played it off as no big deal and a laughing matter on a team that is 2-8 on the season.

One of many veterans with an out in his contract after the season, do not expect Thornhill back in the brown and orange next season.

Amari Cooper may have taken a shot at Deshaun Watson on his way out the door

Did Cooper take a shot at his former quarterback?

The Cleveland Browns traded wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday afternoon, but he may have taken a shot at quarterback Deshaun Watson on his way out.

Cooper is experiencing a career-worst start to his career, headlined by his league-leading nine drops through six games. Leading up to the trade, Cooper racked up just 250 yards and two touchdowns on 24 catches with the Browns.

A big part of that lack of production inevitably also falls onto the struggles of Watson, who has been among the league’s worst in various metrics this season. And Cooper may have been referencing that when he posted to his Instagram, “Move or rust” after the trade was finalized.

Rust, of course, has been a common phrase that has almost become ingrained into the minds of those who follow the Browns. It has been used time and time again to absolve Watson of his struggles since the blockbuster trade brought him to Cleveland. In a three-word post, that is one of the words that Cooper chose to use to sum up the trade.

The chances would appear slim that this was an unintentional use of the word in this instance.

Father of Elijah Moore calls out Browns, Deshaun Watson on social media

Here we go again.

This season for the Cleveland Browns has been deja vu of the 2021 campaign, and now it resembles it even more after the father of Elijah Moore has taken to X (formerly known as Twitter) to call out quarterback Deshaun Watson and the playcalling of the team.

The Browns took to social media to highlight a first quarter throw from Watson to Moore. It turned out that would be Moore’s only target of the game, and his dad noticed.

Taking to X, Moore’s dad posted, “1 target the entire game? Make it makes sense 95% open all the time. [shake my head].”

This, of course, is not the first time the father of a Browns’ wide receiver has taken to social media to call out a Cleveland quarterback as the father of Odell Beckham Jr. did the same thing to Baker Mayfield in 2021.

Time is a flat circle in Cleveland, friends. Buckle up, it’s going to be a long season.

New Browns CB Justin Hardee has a message after returning to his hometown

The hometown kid is happy to be back.

The Cleveland Browns signed a Glenville High School graduate, cornerback, and special teams ace Justin Hardee today.

And he is pumped to be back in his hometown.

After graduating from Glenville High School, Hardee departed the Buckeye State to play his collegiate football at the University of Illinois. He was then signed as an undrafted free agent in 2017 by the Houston Texans before landing with the New Orleans Saints and the New York Jets after that.

Now in year eight, Hardee finally gets to return to the place he calls home. The Pro Bowl special teamer took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to express his excitement about being back in The Land:

“Cleveland!!! Let’s go I’m back home! Year 8 blessed. I had no clue but God always knew!!!”

The Browns fielded one of the best special teams units in the league last year, and they look like they want to continue that trend. While they lost one ace in Mike Ford Jr. this offseason, they bring in Hardee along with Tony Brown to keep that third phase of the game locked down.

Welcome home, Justin!

Browns S Rodney McLeod ready for ‘one last lap’ in 2024

The veteran safety hints that the 2024 season will be his last.

After re-signing with the Cleveland Browns, veteran safety Rodney McLeod hints that the 2024 season will be his last as well.

McLeod is entering the 2024 season at the age of 34 and on the heels of a biceps injury that ended his 2023 season and required surgery. Suppose this truly is the end of the line for McLeod. In that case, he will go down as a Super Bowl champion, Alan Page award winner, and a consistent contributor throughout his 13-year NFL career with the St. Louis Rams, Philadelphia Eagles, Indianapolis Colts, and Browns.

McLeod took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to express his excitement to return to the Dawg Pound, but added another note:

“Beyond grateful to run it back in Cleveland for one last lap!!!”

While the young safeties D’Anthony Bell and Ronnie Hickman Jr. filled in well for McLeod in his absence, there is a level of security with having the sturdy veteran on the field with Grant Delpit and Juan Thornhill.

Joining the likes of defensive end Za’Darius Smith and defensive tackles Maurice Hurst and Shelby Harris, the Browns are set to run it back with the league’s best defense from a year ago.

Browns WR Jerry Jeudy thankful following three-year extension

Jeudy is thankful after signing big extension

The Cleveland Browns further proved their belief in new wide receiver Jerry Jeudy on Tuesday, signing him to a massive three-year extension. It is clear that Andrew Berry has been trying to get Jeudy to Cleveland for a while, and now that he is here, they don’t want to let him leave anytime soon.

This extension reminds you of the David Njoku contract in which the team isn’t paying Jeudy for what he’s done but what they think he will do moving forward. After the extension, the new Brown took to social media to express his gratitude and thankfulness.

Not all the contract details have been released yet, but the Browns wouldn’t have committed this much money to Jeudy without a plan for him on the field. Some are saying it’s a horrible contract and an overpay, and in the end, we have no clue if it is until he gets on the field. Remember, most people said the same thing about the David Njoku deal when it was first announced. Ultimately, if Jeudy plays up to his talent level, this contract will greatly benefit Cleveland.

Nyheim Hines speaks after agreeing to terms with the Browns

The running back is excited to join the Browns

The Cleveland Browns continue to be active on day two of free agency, and their new running back Nyheim Hines has spoken for the first time since his signing was announced. Hines didn’t play last season after being injured in a jet ski accident resulting in a torn ACL.

He was one of the best returners on the open market and played for special teams coordinator Bubba Ventrone when the pair were with the Colts. Hines took to social media with a message to fans on Tuesday, saying he is excited to get to work and thanking everyone for welcoming him.

It will be interesting to see if the Browns add another running back in free agency or the draft, with Hines never carrying a significant workload offensively. But in the end, the ace returner is heading to Cleveland as Andrew Berry continues to build the team’s 2024 roster, with the official league year starting on Wednesday.
