Fans have a hilarious idea for Davante Adams after Steelers Week 6 win

Fans were doing their best Cordarrelle Patterson impression after the win and recruited Davante Adams to fly home with Pittsburgh.

Fans of the ‘Steel City’ made their presence felt throughout the entirety of the Steelers’ Week 6 contest against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Pittsburgh faithful knew their team was on the wrong side of momentum, having lost the last two consecutive weeks, and fans provided the much-needed assist as the Steelers won in Week 6, far from home in Las Vegas.

While some would assume their work was over, fans quickly flocked to social media in hilarious fashion, letting Pittsburgh trade target and current Raider WR Davante Adams know that he should fly back with the Steelers to his new home.

Steelers Nation must have been watching Cordarrelle Patterson’s recruiting tactics, as sales pitch after sales pitch flooded social media when the Steelers handed the Raiders their fourth loss of the season. Here are some of the funniest fan reactions and tweets, requesting Davante Adams that fly back to (hopefully) Pittsburgh with his new team.

Steelers-Raiders first-half: Offensive penalties and strong defense

The Pittsburgh Steelers hold a 12-7 lead over the Las Vegas Raiders heading into half-time.

The Pittsburgh Steelers hold a 12-7 lead heading into half-time in their Week 6 contest versus the Las Vegas Raiders.  Producing a first-half that was highlighted by multiple holding calls on the Steelers’ offensive line, and a strong defensive effort, Pittsburgh will look to analyze whatcspecific gameplan adjustments need to be made heading into the second-half.

The offensive line struggled to contain Raiders’ star pass rusher Maxx Crosby, and forced officials to throw multiple flags for holding—ruining drives for the team.

The Steelers produced 152-yards of offense, averaging 4.5 yards a play.  The Pittsburgh defense, although giving up a touchdown early, held the Raiders to a measly 119 yards of total offense.

If Pittsburgh is able to keep their momentum going and pull off the win today, the Steelers will be able to keep pace with the Baltmore Ravens in their race for the AFC North divisional title.

Pittsburgh received the ball to start the contest, and will subsequently kick off to the Las Vegas Raiders to begin this second-half of football.

Steelers fans have taken over Allegiant Stadium

The Pittsburgh Steelers have arrived in Las Vegas, and it appears they brought the entirety of the ‘Steel City’ with them.

With Terrible Towels taking over in Las Vegas, Steelers fans watching their team’s Week 6 contest against the Raiders on national television would assume this game was in Pittsburgh.  While the ‘Steel City’ is notorious for traveling well, the Las Vegas Raiders were once known for having one of the most passionate fan bases in the NFL.

However, it appears the home team left the majority of their dedicated fans back in Oakland, as Pittsburgh has packed the stands with black and gold.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will appreciate the much needed support, as they have produced two straight losses and need a win in Week 6 keep up with the AFC North title race.  The Baltimore Ravens are tied with the Steelers for the number one spot in the division, and face tough competition from the Washington Commanders this week.

The Las Vegas Raiders host their AFC rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers, in a game that is sure to live up to the rivalries standard, on October 13th, at 4:05 PM EST.

Experts picking a bounceback win for Steelers over Raiders

Most NFL experts are picking the Steelers over the Raideres.

This week the 3-2 Pittsburgh Steelers face off against the 2-3 Las Vegas Raiders with both teams coming off of a tough loss. The Raiders have made a quarterback change, going with Aidan O’Connell while the Steelers are sticking with Justin Fields for another week.

NFL experts and pundits seem to feel that Fields gives the Steelers a better chance than the Raiders have with O’Connell. Both teams are missing key players including multiple pass rushers for the Steelers and Las Vegas’ top receiver.

We turn to our friends at NFL Pick Watch to give us the numbers for online experts. They aggregate picks from all over the internet and put the results all in one place.

As of Friday afternoon nearly all expert picks are in and the Steelers hold an edge of 88 percent to just 12 percent calling for the upset by the Raiders.

Both teams need this win to stay relevant in their respective divisions.

Steelers-Raiders matchups to watch: Najee Harris vs. Robert Spillane

A matchup that is shaping up to be the most entertaining positional battle in Week 6, is RB Najee Harris versus LB Robert Spillane.

Pittsburgh’s Week 6 contest has some extra intrigue, as former Steeler and current Raiders LB Robert Spillane goes head-to-head with Steelers RB Najee Harris.

Najee Harris’s lack of yards stems from his inefficiency. Analyzing his average yards per carry from Weeks 1-5 reveals the key area of concern: 3.5, 4.1, 3.9, 1.5, and 3.0. While the Steelers’ offensive line has suffered key injuries that could play a role, the interior linemen consistently rank as the offense’s best players.

Robert Spillane has exploded onto the scene through five weeks of football in 2024. After producing 148 combined tackles in 2023, Spillane is on pace to shatter that number—averaging almost 11 tackles per game this season, putting his projected total at over 180 tackles.

Spillane and Harris have surely felt each other’s presence before—as both players have experienced the classic Steelers tradition of ‘Backs on Backers.’ Who will come out on top in Week 6?

3 things a Steelers loss vs the Raiders could mean for the season?

This week’s game could have huge implications on the rest of the season.

Week Six of the NFL regular season is upon us and this week’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders has huge season implications for the Pittsburgh Steelers. A win gets the team back on track, improves their record to 4-2 and likely solidifies the quarterback depth chart for the time being.

But what about a loss? If the Steelers lose a third straight game and fall to .500 it could have huge immediate implications that would extend through the rest of season.

Push a Devante Adams trade

Pittsburgh might feel the panic and throw a huge offer at the Raiders for wide receiver Davante Adams. If the Steelers lose, you can bet a big chunk of the blame would fall on the passing game.

Send Justin Fields to the bench

Fields is holding onto his starting job by a thread and if he struggles against the Raiders, he opens the door up for Wilson to take his starting spot and never give it back.

Make the Steelers pull the plug on adding talent

The Steelers might view a loss as too much to overcome and just pack up the tents and not try and add any talent. Pittsburgh may just opt to keep that extra salary cap for next season and try and ridge it out wth the current group, hoping to get some players healthy.

Steelers make decision about starting quarterback vs Raiders

Mike Tomlin announced who would be the Steelers starting quarterback against the Raiders this week.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin addressed the media on Friday ahead of the team’s game this weekend against the Las Vegas Raiders. The biggest question was about if Tomlin would stick with Justin Fields or turn to Russell Wilson to help snap the Steelers two-game losing streak.

Tomlin said that Wilson is healthy but needs time to “knock the rust off” so he will be active this week and be the No. 2 but Fields will get his sixth start. Fields got the Steelers off to a hot start winning the first three games of the season but was unable to overcome injuries and inconsistent defense to win either of the last two.

Fields’ future could rest on his performance in Vegas. If he doesn’t play well, that rust is going to come off pretty quickly. If Fields steps up and gets the team back on the winning track, Wilson might stay rusty for a bit longer.

Former Steeler turned Raider LB eager for revenge vs. Pittsburgh

Former Steeler and current Raider, LB Robert Spillane, explained that Pittsburgh’s choice to allow him to leave left a chip on his shoulder.

It seems Robert Spillane isn’t thrilled that Pittsburgh didn’t bring him back when he entered free agency in 2023.

While Spillane was reliable for the Steelers, playing in 50 games over four seasons, his best performance came during his first season as a Raider. Through twenty-two starts in Las Vegas, Spillane has accumulated over 200 tackles and three interceptions. The former Steelers LB is also leading the NFL with 43 solo tackles, compiling his best statistical start to date in 2024.

Spillane stated that he had a chip on his shoulder, and although he was arguably upset that Pittsburgh didn’t bring him back to the ‘Steel City,’ he claimed he was grateful to be a Raider.

Can Pittsburgh’s offensive unit silence Spillane’s jealous tirade and show him that the grass isn’t always greener? Najee Harris and the underwhelming Steelers’ run game have an opportunity to put their stamp on the 2024 season when they travel to Las Vegas in Week 6.

Steelers injury updates: Russell Wilson with full workout, Jaylen Warren remains limited

Here is the Steelers Thursday practice report.

There wasn’t much change for the Pittsburgh Steelers in their Thursday practice ahead of the team taking on the Las Vegas Raiders. The biggest change was the limited return of edge rusher Alex Highsmith, who is working his way back from a groin injury.

The Steelers gave multiple veteran starters another day of rest which is great for them but for a struggling team, doesn’t seem prudent. Nevertheless, safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, running back Najee Harris, and defensive tackle Cam Heyward all took the day off.
