Steelers vs Texans: P Pressley Harvin III expects to be game-time decision

The Steelers might call on Brad Wing to punt on Sunday against the Texans.

Coming off of his best game as a pro, Pittsburgh Steelers punter Pressley Harvin III finds himself potentially missing this week’s game with the Houston Texans. Harvin has been out this week dealing with a hamstring injury and said on Friday he expects to be a game-time decision.

Harvin had six punts last week against the Las Vegas Raiders and averaged 53.8 yards per punt. Nearly 6.5 yards better than his career average. Harvin put three punts inside the 20 and had a long of 63 yards.

If Harvin can’t go, the Steelers will call upon Brad Wing, who they signed off the street this week to replace him. Wing was the Steelers starting punter in 2014 but hasn’t been in the NFL until the end of the 2017 season. Wing has a career punting average of 44.7 yards.

Steelers vs Texans: Pittsburgh Thursday practice report

The Steelers were minus several starters on Thursday.

Thursday is typically the big day for the Pittsburgh Steelers when it comes to practice. While Friday availability determines gameday availability, the names you see on the Thursday report put players on the radar for this week’s game against the Houston Texans. Here’s how the practice report shook out.

Steelers vs Texans: 6 players miss Wednesday practice for Pittsburgh

The Steelers have started preparing to take on the Houston Texans.

The Pittsburgh Steelers got back to work on Wednesday in preparation to travel this week and take on the Houston Texans. After the team’s win over the Las Vegas Raiders, head coach Mike Tomlin didn’t have much to offer in terms of injuries and characterized them as bumps and bruises associated with play.

However, six Steelers missed Wednesday’s practice with some sort of injury. Here is how the practice report breaks down.

Steelers vs Texans: Early causes for concern this week

The Texans are a confident young team coming off a big win and Pittsburgh cannot take them lightly.

Now is not the time to overreact. Yes, the Pittsburgh Steelers are 2-1 and have won two in a row. But just as you can’t get too low when you are losing, you should never get too high when you are winning.

This week Pittsburgh travels to Houston after a cross-country trip the week before in hopes of extending their win streak to three and beating the Houston Texans. On paper, the Texans are a rebuilding team with a rookie quarterback so the Steelers defense has a significant edge. Nevertheless, we are always cautiously optimistic when it comes to games the Steelers should win.

Here are our big concerns for this week.
