6 Texas A&M Aggies prospects who should interest Cowboys in 2023 draft

A potential Tony Pollard replacement sits among those in Aggie land who could be of interest to the Cowboys come draft season, according to @TimLettiero

Texas A&M is a program that has been around since 1894 and has blessed the sport of professional football with numerous alumni who made their impact. Some of their most notable players at the next level include the likes of WR Dante Hall, LB Von Miller, WR Mike Evans and DE Myles Garrett, all of whom rank among of the all-time best at their position. Some former Aggies have also made their name in Dallas. That list includes current safety Donovan Wilson, TE Martellus Bennett, LB Dat Nguyen and CB Kevin Smith.

Jerry Jones and the Cowboys like Power 5 schools, having 42 of them currently on roster. With the storied history of Texas A&M and the talent programs at this level produce, there is a good chance the Dallas front office has their eyes on some Aggies. In our second installment of school spotlight, here are some names to watch for come next April.

5 prospects from Clemson, Wake Forest’s double OT thriller

A look at 5 draft prospects for the Cowboys and how well they performed on Saturday. | From @Ju_BeLegendary

The first three weeks of the college football season had been nothing short of phenomenal. It’s been a master class in why we love college football. We have had two AP top ten football teams lose to mid-majors on the same weekend. (Marshal defeated Notre Dame and Appalachian St defeated Texas A&M). We saw Texas take Alabama down to the wire before quarterback Bryce Young displayed the poise every NFL team covets in a potential franchise quarterback, leading his team to a game winning field goal. Georgia has continued its dominance from a season ago thus far and not to mention a host of wild finishes highlighted by Appalachian St. walk off Hail Mary this past weekend.

Week 4 looked like much of the same with several key matchups both inside and outside of the top-25 and some teams that were on upset alert. In each one of these matchups there are several draft eligible players who all 32 NFL teams, but most importantly the Dallas Cowboys will have eyes on as we continue to get a clearer picture of what the 2023 Draft Class will look like.

Today we look back to two conference clashes, an ACC battle and BIG 10 clash.

In the ACC, Clemson and Wake Forest put on a double-overtime thriller with the Tigers escaping 51-45.

List of Florida State Seminoles who should interest Cowboys in 2023

The Seminoles have a trio of draftable defenders who will be on the Cowboys, and all 32 NFL teams’ radars come draft season. @Ju_BeLegendary comes with an early look.

What makes college football so great is the pageantry, the tradition of each one of the stadiums, fan bases, and programs. When one sees those tomahawk chops and hear that war chant it is synonymous with Florida State football. FSU is a storied program that has won three national championships, produced three Heisman trophy winners (Charlie Ward, Chris Weinke, and Jameis Winston) and a long list of NFL players who have gone on to have successful professional careers. The Seminoles have five players inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame including legendary Dallas Cowboy Deion Sanders. That list also includes Fred Biletnikoff, Derrick Brooks, Walter Jones and most recently LeRoy Butler who was inducted this year.

Despite the Cowboys success with other blue blood programs, Dallas has only drafted nine players from FSU with the most recent player being cornerback Marquez White in 2017. However, that number could look different if they chose to draft Jalen Ramsey over Ezekiel Elliot in 2016, which many believe they should have done or if Derwin James would have made it to pick 19 in the 2018 Draft.

Florida State only had one player drafted in 2022 (Jermaine Johnson, No. 26 overall) but that is sure to change in this year’s draft as the Seminoles have a few players earning high marks amongst evaluators.

Today we start our school spotlight series with the Florida State Seminoles and some of their draftable prospects.

Cowboys 2023 Draft Preview: Oregon LB Noah Sewell could be in play

Dallas may have filled their linebacker need for now, but could be right back in the market. If so, Sewell presents interesting options. | From @Ju_BeLegendary.

The Oregon Ducks have had six players selected in the top seven of the NFL draft since 2013, with three picked over the last three straight years: Justin Herbert (2020), Penei Sewell (2021), and Kayvon Thibodeaux (2022). Prior to that defensive end Dion Jordan was the third overall pick in 2013, two years later Marcus Mariota (2015) was selected number two overall, and the following season DeForest Bucker (2016) was selected with the seventh pick.

Only time will tell if the same fate awaits linebacker Noah Sewell, but what is clear is that he has first round talent and should be in the mix to be the first linebacker off the board come April 2023 should he declare.

Sewell is the brother of current Detroit Lion, Penei, and Saints linebacker, Nephi. Like his brother Penei, Noah was a heavily recruited player out of high school and the film shows why he had powerhouses like Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Notre Dame, and Utah all vying for his services. His range and physicality jump off the tape as he racked up 159 tackles over his first two years at Oregon. Armed with a quick processor, Sewell has all of the baseline traits to be a productive starter very early in his pro career.

We take a break from the on-field work of training camp to take a look at Noah Sewell and how his skill set would fit with the Cowboys.

Futures: Notre Dame’s Foskey could be Cowboys’ pass-rush draft dream in ’23

Advance scouting heads to South Bend to look at the potential first rounder and how he would fit in Dallas’ plans. From @Ju_BeLegendary

It’s never too early to turn attention towards the 2023 NFL Draft, especially as it is now less than two months away from a trio of intriguing matchups. Things get rowdy early as Georgia takes on Oregon, Ohio St. faces Notre Dame, and Florida St. travels down to Baton Rouge to square off with LSU. The seeds of prospects who will be all the rave during the pre-draft process in January are being planted now.

The 2023 edge rusher group has a real chance to evolve into one of if not the deepest position group in next year’s class. With players like B.J Ojulari (LSU), Isiah Foskey (Notre Dame), Nolan Smith (Georgia), Clemson’s Myles Murphy, Zion Tupola Fetui (Washington), and Ohio States Zach Harrison there should be plenty of options to choose from. Maybe the most intriguing of the aforementioned players is Foskey, who has a unique blend of size, length, athleticism and alignment versatility.

We take a look at Foskey and why his arrow is trending up and if he could be a fit for the Dallas Cowboys come next April’s draft.
