T.J. Watt’s season has been forgettable thanks to multiple injuries.

Coming off of winning the Defensive Player of the Year and tying the record for most sacks in a season, things couldn’t be much worse for Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt. Watt has missed all or part of nine games this season with a variety of injuries including the rib injury he is currently dealing with.Watt spoke to the press on Friday and there was no hiding his frustration over the struggles he has had this season with injuries and his missed time.

“It’s just been one thing after another this year, but I don’t want to miss any more games,” Watt said.
In five games this season Watt has only mustered 1.5 sacks and 22 tackles. While there is no denying how much better the overall defense is when Watt is on the field, individually the year has been a letdown for Watt and injuries are to blame.

If the Pittsburgh Steelers want to keep the slimmest of playoff hopes alive, Sunday’s game with the Baltimore Ravens is a must-win in every sense of the word.

Things are lining up well for Pittsburgh this week. The Steelers are coming back home riding a two-game road winning streak and are getting Baltimore without starting quarterback Lamar Jackson. There’s really no excuse for the Steelers to let this one slip away.

Except for the fact that two of the team’s best players, linebacker T.J. watt and wide receiver Diontae Johnson both missed Thursday’s practice with injuries.

Steelers currently 3-point favorites over Ravens

Pittsburgh is still a favorite this week over the Ravens.

The latest line at the BetMGM sportsbook has the Pittsburgh Steelers sitting at 2.5-point home favorites over the Baltimore Ravens. This line has been as high as three since coming out and we suspect it will continue to fluctuate in the coming days.

In terms of the spread, the biggest factor in all of this is the injury status of quarterback Lamar Jackson. Jackson suffered a knee injury last week and it isn’t clear if he will try to go in this division showdown or not.

If Jackson cannot go, Baltimore will turn to Tyler Huntley. The Steelers beat Huntley last season but head coach Mike Tomlin warned not to think much about it and noted he is a much better quarterback now than the version who threw two interceptions in the 16-13 overtime loss last season.

Let us know in the comments if you are taking the Steelers and giving the points. Or are you going to hold off and see more about the status of Jackson before you commit to a Steelers win?

Steelers vs Ravens: 3 early causes for concern this week

Lamar Jackson’s status is still up in the air for this week.

The playoffs might not be in the Pittsburgh Steelers future but that isn’t going to stop this team from playing hard every week. This week the Steelers come back home to take on the Baltimore Ravens and look to extend their current win streak to three. But as the enteral pessimist, I have concerns. Here are the three big ones.

3 things Tyler Huntley at QB means for the Steelers

The Steelers should be prepared for Trent Huntley this week.

It is looking more and more like Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson will miss this week’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and it will be Tyler Huntley in the starting lineup. The Steelers are very familiar with Huntley and here are three things playing him will mean.

Ravens QB Lamar Jackson considered week-to-week with knee injury

The Steelers are likely going against Tyler Huntley this week.

On Monday, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson underwent an MRI on the knee he injured in last week’s game against the Denver Broncos. After the MRI, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh characterized Jackson as “week-to-week” but it sounded like the Pittsburgh Steelers wouldn’t be seeing him this Sunday.

“As the week goes on, we’ll see for this week,” Harbaugh said. “It’s probably less likely for this week, but it’s not impossible. Then, after that, it’ll become more and more likely.”

If Jackson can’t go it would be Tyler Huntley getting the start. The last time the Steelers took on the Ravens Huntley was the quarterback and the Steelers won 16-13 and Pittsburgh picked off Huntley twice. However, the game went to overtime and Huntley did rush for 72 yards.
