Vikings elevate S Myles Dorn from practice squad for Sunday’s game

The move likely signals that the rookie first-round pick will miss Sunday’s game against the Packers

With Lewis Cine having been on the injury report the last two days, the Minnesota Vikings made the move to elevate safety Myles Dorn from the practice squad.

This doesn’t 100% confirm that Lewis Cine will be out on Sunday but it sends a strong signal that he will miss the season opener against the Green Bay Packers.

Cine has been dealing with a knee injury that he aggrevated this week. It is something that hopefully won’t impact him long term and this could likely be a precautionary measure.

Dorn had a fantastic final preseason game against the Broncos and seemingly earned himself a roster spot but they gave it to Metellus over him due to his special teams acumen. Barring something drastic, Dorn will be active against the Packers on Sunday.

Final Vikings injury report has only 2 players

The final Vikings injury report is out and is down to just two names

The Minnesota Vikings most recent injury report released on Thursday afternoon had three names on it. The final one has only two on it: Lewis Cine and Jonathan Bullard.

The most noteworthy change on the injury report is that Alexander Mattison was removed. Head coach Kevin O’Connell said of Mattison, who had missed two days of practices due to a personal matter, that he will play on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.

Cine is dealing with a knee injury that is an aggregation of a previous injury and is questionable, along with Bullard who has been dealing with a biceps injury. He was listed on the injury report all week while Cine was only on there Thursday and Friday.

There is hope that the Vikings could be at full strength going into Sunday’s game, which is the best-case scenario.

T-Pain will perform at halftime of Vikings’ season opener vs. Packers

T-Pain is prepared to rock U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday

Every so often, you get a performance from a superstar singer during or before a game, and the Minnesota Vikings will have that during Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers.

Most of the time, these performances are either during a prime-time opener or a Thanksgiving Day game. Both the Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys have performances at halftime during their games on Thanksgiving.

For Week 1 this season, the Vikings got out their checkbook and brought in a superstar: multi-platinum recording artist T-Pain, who will perform at halftime.

Known mostly for his Auto-Tune style and for performing with other artists, T-Pain has a long list of hits that include “Bartender,” “Buy U a Drank” and “I’m in Luv.”

Needless to say, there will be a great vibe at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday.

Vikings safety Lewis Cine is questionable for Sunday’s game

Things aren’t looking great for the Vikings first round pick

When the Minnesota Vikings released their injury report on Thursday afternoon, it had two players added to it from their initial report on Wednesday.

On Friday afternoon, Lewis Cine was announced as questionable for Sunday’s opener against the Green Bay Packers with a knee injury.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise as Cine was seen yesterday with a wrap around his knee with ice on it. The fact that it’s the aggravation of a previous injury is a concern.

For a player as dynamic athletically as Cine, a knee injury can become a big issue, especially if it continues to linger. The ideal scenario would be for Cine to come back when the injury is completely healthy.

The Vikings do not currently list Cine as a starter and, while he would be missed, would be best served getting this injury fully healed.

The Vikings aren’t often a home underdog in the opener

The Minnesota Vikings haven’t been an underdog in week one at home since 1985

The Minnesota Vikings are a home underdog in week one and it’s quite a surprise.

The Packers lost to the Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium last season 34-31 and lost a top-10 receiver in Davante Adams and have a loaded injury report including LT David Bakhtiari.

Being a 1.5 point underdog per Tipico Sportsbook in the week one opener at home also marks the first time they have been an underdog since 1985 per The Action Network.

That’s a pretty long streak but also makes sense considering how consistent the Vikings have been over the last 37 years. The Vikings hope that they can have that same magic on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.

There are 2 new additions to the Minnesota Vikings injury report

The Vikings saw the injury report add two names on Thursday

On Wednesday’s injury report, the Minnesota Vikings only had one player on it.

Defensive lineman Jonathan Bullard (biceps) was listed as limited and appeared on the list again on Thursday afternoon.

Joining him on the list were two players: Lewis Cine and Alexander Mattison.

Mattison did not practice due to a personal matter. Per The Star Tribune’s Ben Goessling, his absence was not “due to a trade” but rather something else. It is unknown if Mattison will miss Sunday’s game or will need more time off than Thursday but it will be something to monitor.

Cine was limited due to a knee injury and it is unknown how serious this is. He practiced yesterday and according to The Athletic’s Arif Hasan, Cine was seen with a wrap and ice.

The Vikings are set to play the Packers at 3:25 central on Sunday, Sept. 11th.

The Vikings first injury report is almost non-existent

The Vikings first injury report is looking as good as it can

The first injury report for the 2022 Minnesota Vikings season is out and it is very favorable for the purple and gold.

Going into week one is usually the best that the injury report will look due to the lack of playing time for the starters and no regular season games have been played.

Unlike the Green Bay Packers who have more than 10 players on their initial report, the Vikings have only one in defensive lineman Jonathan Bullard.

Bullard earned the starting job during his strong training camp and preseason which was part of the reason that the Vikings waived the incumbent starter Armon Watts.

Going into the game at full strength for the debut game of head coach Kevin O’Connell will be huge for the Vikings on Sunday afternoon.

Vikings unveil first official depth chart of the 2022 season

The first depth chart of the 2022 season is here

Littered throughout the depth chart are quite a few things that stand out. Take a look and see where everyone was listed.

2 former Green Bay Packers excited for first game against them

Both Smith and Sullivan are ready to play their former team

The Minnesota Vikings have made a habit of bringing in former Green Bay Packers and this team is no different.

The Minnesota Vikings have had some high-profile signings in the past. While Brett Favre is obviously the biggest of them all, the Vikings have also signed Greg Jennings and Ryan Longwell who both played major roles on the Vikings during their time with the franchise.

This offseason, the Vikings added two more players from their biggest rival and both of them are on the defensive side of the football.

Chandon Sullivan and Za’Darius Smith were both important parts of the Packers defense and will play their first game against their former team on Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Sullivan told reporters that he will be “full of emotions” when playing his former team. The fifth-year player spent the last three seasons with the Packers where he played in all 49 regular season games with 20 starts.

The focus is on Smith, as the Packers released him despite being one of the NFL’s best sack artists. The game has him excited.

“Very excited, man,” Smith said. “I can’t wait. I’ve been preparing for this time to come for a while now, so it’s finally come, and now I’m ready. They did (release me), and I came to the other side. But you know at the end of the day, it’s a game and we all get to play and do something that we love, and I just can’t wait to go against my old team.’’

The game will be full of emotions as it is a major rivalry in the NFL but for these two, it will mean just a bit more.
