The Pittsburgh Steelers continued to round out its practice squad on Monday with the addition of three more players. The Steelers signed linebacker Delontae Scott, safety Andrew Adams and cornerback Josh Jackson.

Scott was on the Steelers practice squad in 2021 and even active for one game. He was waived by Pittsburgh this offseason but now returns. Adams enters his seventh NFL season having spent time with the New York Giants, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Detroit Lions and Philadelphia eagles.

Jackson is the most interesting of the bunch. A former second-round pick of the Green Bay Packers, he has 15 NFL starts and looked to have a promising NFL career ahead of him before bouncing around between the Packers, New York Giants, Arizona Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs over the last four seasons.

On Friday, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced they had signed running back Jason Huntley to the practice squad. Huntley is a former fifth-round pick of the Detroit Lions out of New Mexico State.

Pittsburgh is Huntley’s third team in as many seasons and he has a whopping 70 career rushing yards. Not sure why Huntley was the pick with experienced backs still on the market but unless there is some sort of catastrophic injury, it’s doubful the team will need Huntley on the gameday roster.

According to ESPN NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler, the Pittsburgh Steelers are signing former Cincinnati Bengals defensive lineman Renell Wren to the practice squad.

Wren played college football at Arizona State and was a fourth-round pick of the Bengals back in 2019. He started two games as a rookie before going on IR. He then missed all of the 2020 season on IR as well.

If he’s healthy, Wren could be an effect 3-4 end in the Steelers scheme. He’s got a very long frame and carries his 315 pounds well. The Steelers have a surprisingly deep group of defensive linemen right now, so there would be no rush to get Wren into the mix.

Gilbert didn’t start any games and finishe with three tackles, one pass defended and one forced fumble.

Steelers bring OL John Leglue back on practice squad

John Leglue has signed back with the Steelers.

It came as a surprise when the Pittsburgh Steelers chose to release offensive lineman John Leglue on Tuesday. But Leglue’s time with the Steelers was short lived as he has returned to the team on the practice squad per ESPN reporter Brooke Pryor.

Leglue joined the Steelers in 2021 and was a great surprise with five starts. Leglue played his college ball at Tulane. I look for Leglue to end up back on the 53-man roster very quickly given the lack of production by the offensive line in preseason.
