According to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport, the Cincinnati Bengals have placed defensive tackle Geno Atkins on injured reserve with a shoulder injury meaning he will miss this week’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Bengals have struggled all season so losing one of their best defenders is problematic for Cincinnati but gives Pittsburgh an edge along the line of scrimmage this week.

Despite losing streak, Steelers big road favorites over Bengals

Despite their current losing streak, the Steelers are still heavy favorites over the Bengals.

The Pittsburgh Steelers find themselves on the wrong end of a two-game losing streak and in something of a late-season collapse. But even the last few weeks of awful play can’t deter oddsmakers from keeping the faith in the Steelers this week against the Cincinnati Bengals.

BetMGM has the Steelers as 12-point road favorites. A bit generous perhaps? History says no. Since 2000, the Steelers are 34-9 against the Bengals and the last time the Bengals beat the Steelers was in 2015.

The Steelers have plenty to play for this weekend. Sitting at 11-2, if the Steelers can beat the Bengals they will win the AFC North crown. This would then complicate things for Pittsburgh with two games left to play.

But for now, the goal is to just find a way to get back on track enough to get past the 2-10-1 Bengals.

Steelers vs Bengals: 3 early causes for concern

Steelers Wire takes a look at some of the early concerns ahead of this week’s game.

Are the Pittsburgh Steelers on a verge of another late-season collapse? Last season the Steelers lost to the Buffalo Bills in December, never won another game and missed the playoffs. This season the Steelers have a playoff spot locked up but are looking are living with a two-game losing streak and three games left to play.

This week the Steelers travel to Cincinnati and take on the 2-10-1 Bengals on the road. This one should be a breeze, right? At this point, no one should take anything for granted when it comes to Pittsburgh. Here are our worries for this week.

Steelers CB Joe Haden hints he’s planning to play vs Bengals

One of the reasons the Pittsburgh Steelers struggled so much to slow down the Buffalo Bills passing offense in the second half on Sunday was because starting cornerback Joe Haden missed the game with a concussion. But Haden makes it seem he’s planning to play this week against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Haden suffered a concussion making a tackle in the previous week against the Washington Football Team.

The Steelers defense struggled to slow down Buffalo last week and hasn’t looked like itself for the last three weeks. Haden joined the team as a free agent back in 2017 and has been the team’s best cornerback since the day he showed up.
