Just a bit before halftime of Washington’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, it came to light that quarterback Alex Smith bot gashed on his leg by a cleat from his lineman, and started profusely bleeding onto his own cleat.
Before you get too concerned, the gash was on his left leg, not his right leg, which is the one that had 17 surgeries on it. Smith had his leg taped up and he seemed to not have it bother him on the sideline at all, coming back into the game on the next drive. Nonetheless, Twitter had a field day with the pictures.

Alex Smith bleeding around his left ankle. He appeared to be "cleated" on previous drive. It is not his surgically repaired leg. pic.twitter.com/0nUNky71GZ

"If you're wondering, the leg from which Alex Smith is spewing blood is not the leg he had 17 surgeries on," was a sentence I was hoping not to hear tonight. Although I guess it beats "the leg from which Alex Smith is spewing blood IS the leg he had 17 surgeries on."
