The Eagles defense played inspired football and Carson Wentz was magnificent as he led Philadelphia (8-7) to a 17-9 home win over the Cowboys that put them within a win of a division title.
Wentz was 31 of 40 for 319 yards and one touchdown.
He completed passes to 8 different wide receivers and was efficient in keeping the Eagles in good field position and without negative plays. The Eagles utilized a bulk of 12 personnel, riding Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert in the passing game.
The results ere a 9 catch, 91-yard outburst from Goedert, which included a spectacular back of the end zone touch down catch.
Miles Sanders had 5 catches for 77 yards (15.4 per catch) and 20 carries for 91 yards and a rushing touchdown. Sanders could have added more to his stats but chose to take a knee on a long gain, over attempting to score.
The Eagles defense was spectacular as well, holding Ezekiel Elliott to 47 yards on 13 carries, while Dak Prescott was 25 of 44 for 265 yards and no touchdowns.
