Boston Celtics rookie Carsen Edwards has been assigned to the Maine Red Claws in the G League, the team announced on Friday morning. The Red Claws host the Grand Rapids Drive on Friday night.
The appearance for Edwards with the Red Claws is his first in a month after last suiting up in the G League on Feb. 6 against the Canton Charge. Edwards recorded 22 points and three rebounds in that game.
The second-round pick logged four appearances with the Celtics during his last stint with the team, most recently scoring eight points in 16 minutes of work on Tuesday against the Brooklyn Nets.

Edwards has played sporadically this season with the Celtics, appearing in 35 games. With playing time often at a premium for Edwards, the Celtics have sent him to the G League a few different times to get some work.
Edwards is averaging 23.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.8 steals in 12 appearances with the Red Claws this season. He scored a season-high 41 points on Feb. 1 against the Greensboro Swarm.
