Carsen Edwards had his fourth 20-point game in the G League on Friday

The second-round pick tallied 21 points on assignment with the Maine Red Claws on Friday night in a win over the Agua Caliente Clippers.

Boston Celtics rookie Carsen Edwards recorded 21 points on assignment Friday night in the G League with the Maine Red Claws during a 112-109 win over the Agua Caliente Clippers.

Edwards finished by shooting 8-of-23 from the field in 36 minutes of work, including 3-of-10 from 3-point range, for his fourth 20-point game in the G League. The second-round pick also added five rebounds and three assists.

After the Celtics called up two-way rookie Tremont Waters, Edwards earned the start at point guard. Although he wasn’t very efficient in the contest, converting on just 34.7% from the field, the rookie scored from all over the court from finishing at the rim to hitting the mid-range shot.

With playing time at a premium on the Celtics, Edwards has been showing out in the G League. In six games with the Red Claws, Edwards is averaging 21.8 points, five rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.2 steals. Edwards could re-join the Celtics with the Red Claws off until Thursday.

Celtics two-way rookie Tacko Fall also helped lead the way for the Red Claws. The 7-foot-5 center finished with 11 points, seven rebounds and six blocks for his second game of the season with six blocks.
