Fan interactions in the NBA can EASILY go haywire. We’ve seen it happen so many times in just the last few years.
There was that Donovan Mitchell incident earlier this season in Philadelphia. There was also that Russell Westbrook incident in Utah last year. Or how about when that Warriors fan who was also part owner pushed Kyle Lowry in the middle of a game.
Fans can be the worst sometimes.
There are also moments when they’re they absolute best, though. We saw one of those moments last night with Carmelo Anthony when the Blazers were playing the Mavericks.
Anthony was sitting in the corner calling for the ball but got looked off initially, which prompted a fan on the sideline to yell “Give it to him. Come on, man.”
"Give it to him!"

This was so real. This is every fan at home just coaching from the couch. “Swing that, fam,” basically. The ball didn’t get swung, though.
The best part? Anthony looked back at the fan like “yeah, my man is tripping.” It was glorious.
Anthony did eventually get the ball. And what happened? Boom. 3-pointer, corner pocket. Of course. The fan was right.
Terry Stotts, get that man on your bench.
