It’s safe to say Carlos Rodon’s first few weeks with the New York Yankees are not going as planned.
Earlier this month, Rodon was activated off the injured list and made his first start with the Yankees on July 7. In his two starts before Wednesday, Rodon was 0-2 with a 5.23 ERA after giving up six earned runs in 10.1 innings played.
Things only got worse on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Angels, as Rodon allowed four runs — on two homers — in the first two innings of play. His response after closing out the side in the second inning? To blow a kiss to Yankees fans in the stands who were booing him.
Yankees fans in attendance were clearly not thrilled with Carlos Rodon's outing, and he wasn't too happy with their booing… 😬pic.twitter.com/A8aRaywoiv

Yikes! And lest we all forget, Rodon signed a six-year deal with the Yankees back in December 2022 as one of their big moves of the offseason. This is definitely not the way anyone wanted this new era to begin, on either side.
Yankees fans were understandably annoyed with Rodon’s sarcastic kiss to fans in the stands.
