KNOXVILLE — Tennessee senior Carlin Fils-aime will redshirt for the 2019 season.
Fils-aime will return to the Volunteers as a fifth-year senior in 2020.
“It just makes a lot of sense,” Pruitt said of Fils-aime redshirting. “The guy probably was ready about when we played Georgia – the fifth week of the year. He played in a few games a little bit there. He had a pretty significant injury.
“For him, gives him a great opportunity.”
The Naples, Fla. native has played in three games this season and 33 total contests for the Vols since 2016.
Fils-aime has spent time at running back and cornerback during his career at Tennessee. The 5-foot-11, 198-pound senior has totaled 309 rushing yards on 52 attempts and has scored five touchdowns on the ground. He has also recorded four receptions for 18 yards, while totaling five tackles.
