Caris LeVert pleased with how Jarrett Allen handled Rudy Gobert

Jarrett Allen logged a double-double in each of the Brooklyn Nets’ three Disney bubble scrimmages.

Brooklyn’s scrimmage against the Utah Jazz was a major opportunity for Jarrett Allen. He had to square off against the best defensive big man in the NBA, Rudy Gobert — while still being the only true big on the Nets’ roster.

Although the Nets wound up losing their final Disney bubble scrimmage, Allen had himself a big night. He scored 19 points on 9-for-12 shooting, and once again finished with double-digit rebounds (10), logging his third double-double in as many opportunities inside the bubble.

While Allen finished in double figures against both the New Orleans Pelicans and San Antonio Spurs, this was the first time he scored over 10 points in any of these scrimmages — and it came against the toughest defender he’s faced in the bubble.

Just another reminder of just how much the big man has to offer, and Caris LeVert was among those who took notice of Allen’s showing on Monday, per Brian Lewis of the New York Post:

I love the way he competed against Gobert. I think he’s coming into his own every single game and I think games like tonight really show that. He’s just gotta be consistent with it. He knows what we expect from him as a team and I think he expects the same thing from himself. I can’t wait to see him keep getting better and see where his ceiling is.

Allen and the Nets get back to work on Friday at 2:30 p.m. against the Orlando Magic.
