Given their poor offensive showing, the Brooklyn Nets could have used Caris LeVert against the New York Knicks. He was able to participate in a large portion of practice leading up to Christmas, but wasn’t given the green light on Thursday.
The Nets will be without LeVert (right thumb surgery) again on Sunday. He has been ruled out for Brooklyn’s game in Houston against the Rockets on Saturday. Nic Claxton (left hamstring soreness) and Kyrie Irving (right shoulder impingement) have been ruled out, as well.
It appears Irving could be unavailable over Brooklyn’s next three games, all of which are on the road (Houston, Minnesota and Dallas). Kenny Atkinson also told reporters on Friday Irving did not participate in contact portions of practice on Friday, per Mollie Walker of the New York Post:
No, he’ll stay back. He worked on-court today, I watched the workout, it was pretty intense. We just haven’t integrated him into contact yet.
