Caris LeVert has made significant progress toward his return to game action. He’s even with his Brooklyn Nets teammates for their ongoing three-game road trip.
Given LeVert had participated in contact portions of practice before Christmas, it seemed like he might return for the Nets by Thursday’s game in Dallas against the Mavericks. However, that will not be the case.
Kenny Atkinson told reporters in Dallas, LeVert will not play on Thursday. But, Levert did take part in all portions of Wednesday’s practice, per Greg Logan of Newsday. LeVert had previously only taken part in contact portions of practice while facing Nets coaches.
Caris LeVert is not playing for #Nets vs Dallas but did everything in practice today and says he’s very close to return. Next opp is Saturday vs Toronto.

According to Alex Schiffer of The Athletic, LeVert expects to receive a ruling late on Friday or early Saturday as to whether or not he will against the Toronto Raptors on Saturday.
LeVert’s replacement at the off-guard position, Garrett Temple, is dealing with a sore knee. He had to sit practice out on Wednesday, per Brian Lewis of the New York Post.
