The Patriots are a little on the dangerous side because they are playing better, but they are still an offense that is limited in weapons and a defense that doesn’t stop the run well. Arizona should, after playing Seattle twice and Minnesota, find moving the ball and scoring much easier against the Pats. The Pats will move the ball some but be limited to field goals.

December has not been kind to the Cardinals in recent years. The last time they had a winning record in the month was 3-2 in 2017. Since then, it’s been 8-19 and 5-12 this decade including the first two weeks of this season. In Week 15, there have been three consecutive losses to the Lions, Broncos and 49ers by a combined score of 99-56. The 2022 loss to Denver, which was part of a 0-3 month, came one game after quarterback Kyler Murray suffered a torn ACL against the Patriots. Whether or not the Cardinals qualify for the playoffs, finishing on an upbeat note is necessary to solidify the belief that this is an improving team. And it has to begin Sunday. It says here it will.
