Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins ranked 17th in PFF’s top 50 players

Arizona Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins is one of the best players in the NFL. Where does he rank in comparison to the rest of the NFL and other WRs?

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is arguably the best receiver in the NFL. He is one of the best players in the NFL as well.

Where does he rank among NFL players?

According to Pro Football Focus, who ranked the top 50 players of right now, he comes in at No. 17.

New team. New quarterback. Same old dominant performances from DeAndre Hopkins. His signature play was a phenomenal catch on a Hail Mary where he outjumped multiple defenders to come down with an improbable touchdown, but Hopkins was also the second-leading receiver in the league in terms of yardage and generated 2.25 yards per route run despite a very predictable alignment pattern and an average depth of target of just 9.0 yards.

Only one receiver — Green Bay’s Davante Adams — is ranked higher. He is No. 5 overall. Considering the season he had last season for the Packers, it is understandable.

Hopkins should be even better in his second year with the Cardinals, as last year he didn’t get many offseason reps in a new offense for him.

While he was used predictably, that might change more this season, as they have had on-field work and a whole year with him and Kyler Murray to work.

The players ranked above him are all elite at their positions, whether they are quarterbacks, cornerbacks or even running backs. To say Hopkins is a top-20 player in the NFL is fair.

It is one of the few times where we can’t really complain too much about where a Cardinals player is ranked.
