The Arizona Cardinals had a few players in for workouts on Monday. According to Cards Wire’s Howard Balzer, the league transaction report has the Cardinals bringing in three linebackers for tryouts — Chris Garrett, T.J. Carter and Ikenna Enechukwu.
Garrett was reportedly signed.
The Cardinals either have a new injury at outside linebacker or they have at least another player in the rotation who they don’t plan on playing in the preseason finale on Sunday against the Denver Broncos.
Chris Garrett
Garrett is a 6-foot-4, 245-pound linebacker who would play off the edge.
He was the special teams player of the year this past season for the UFL, playing for the St. Louis Battlehawks. In nine games last season, he had 26 total tackles, one for loss, a sack and two forced fumbles. He also blocked two kicks.
He was drafted in the seventh round in 2021 by the Los Angeles Rams and appeared in one game that season. He has not played since.
He has spent time with the Seattle Seahawks and Minnesota Vikings.
T.J. Carter
Carter is 6-foot-4 and 289 pounds. He entered the league as an undrafted rookie out of Kentucky in 2022 with the Los Angeles Rams. He played in two games as a rookie. He spent time on the Rams’ practice squad in 2023.
Ikenna Enechukwu
He is 6-foot-4 and 266 pounds and entered the league as an undrafted rookie in 2023 out of Rice, signing with the Atlanta Falcons. He spent his rookie season injured reserve.
He was released in April.
