Cardinals waive OL Brett Toth from IR, protect 3 practice squad players for Week 5

Trevon Coley is protected this week instead of Jonathan Bullard.

The Arizona Cardinals made some minor moves on Tuesday they did not announce. On the NFL transaction report, it said the Cardinals waived offensive lineman Brett Toth from injured reserve. He was waived/injured before the season and, when he went unclaimed, reverted to injured reserve.

He must be healthy now so he has received an injury settlement.

The Cardinals also protected three players on the practice squad this week. NFL teams can protect up to four players from being signed by other teams during the week.

This week, one player changed. They protected the following players:

  • DL Trevon Coley
  • DL Michael Dogbe
  • CB Jace Whittaker

Coley is a new addition this week. The last two weeks, it was Whittaker, Dogbe and Jonathan Bullard, as well as running back Jonathan Ward, who is now on the active roster. Instead of Bullard, this week it is Coley.

Whittaker was elevated to the active roster last weekend and played on special teams.
