Cardinals trim roster more, cut 3 undrafted rookies

Their roster is down to 77 players after undrafted rookies Jake Benzinger, Reggie Floyd and Rashad Medaris have been let go.

The Arizona Cardinals already had gotten their roster down to 80 players by making 10 player cuts more than a week ago. They further trimmed their roster Monday, announcing three player cuts.

Three undrafted rookies — offensive lineman Jake Benzinger, safety Reggie Floyd and receiver Rashad Medaris — were released on Monday.

The Cardinals now have 77 players on the roster, pending other possible moves.

With the shortened offseason, combined with a roster that is mostly decided, undrafted rookies were going to have a very difficult time making the team.

These cuts could be the precursor of player signings, although nothing has been reported as of yet.

With the cuts, the Cardinals now have 14 offensive lineman, five safeties and 10 receivers on the roster.

On Monday, the team could begin strength and conditioning drills and also begin having walkthroughs in training camp.
