Cardinals to practice with Vikings under excessive heat warning

The Cardinals are scheduled for joint practices Wednesday and Thursday with the Vikings. It’s going to unseasonably hot there.

The Arizona Cardinals have arrived in Minnesota, where they will hold two joint practices with the Minnesota Vikings, their final preseason opponent on Saturday.

When they hold the first of their two practices on Wednesday, it will be under severe conditions.

There is an excessive heat warning in effect Tuesday and Wednesday for south and central Minnesota with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees.

Heat index values are expected to be between 105-110 degrees on Wednesday.

Minnesota’s Tuesday practice was described as “furnace-like.”

The heat is nothing new for people in Arizona, but the Cardinals usually go inside their practice bubble when it is hot.

The forecast for Wednesday in Eagan, MN, where the Vikings’ training facility is located, is a high of 98 degrees.

With the heat warning, we will see if schedules or plans change.
