Cardinals to place WR Marquise Brown on IR, ending his season

The heel injury that has been nagging him for a month, will end his season.

The Arizona Cardinals will not have wide receiver Marquise Brown for the rest of the season. Hampered by a heel injury for the last month, the team will place him on injured reserve, head coach Jonathan Gannon announced Friday.

He missed the Cardinals’ game against the Chicago Bears last week but played through the injury the previous two games, failing to catch a pass.

He will miss the final two games of the year.

Brown finishes the season with 51 receptions for 574 yards and four touchdowns.

Brown’s contract expires after the season. He will be an unrestricted free agent in March if his contract is not extended before then.

Earlier the season, it was reported that he is part of the team’s future plans and they wish to bring him back.

We will see if that still is the case after the conclusion of a touch season for Brown.
