The Arizona Cardinals added some offensive line depth on Wednesday. The team announced the addition of offensive lineman Ryan Pope.
Pope is a 6-7, 315-pound tackle who entered the league in 2019 as an undrafted rookie. He has spent time with the San Francisco 49ers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Green Bay Packers and Denver Broncos.
He has not yet appeared in an NFL game.
He played collegiately at San Diego State. While he was there, he played in 36 games in three seasons (2016-18) and was named second-team All-Mountain West as a senior in 2018 after starting at both tackle spots.
The move is on the heels of head coach Kliff Kingsbury telling reporters that guard Brian Winters would miss a couple of weeks with an undisclosed injury.
It might not be completely related, but they likely need another body to get reps while they shift players around to fill in for absences.
